There's something in the intimacy of seeing one another at their lowest and weakest. Whumper knew that, and they loved the thought of being the only person to see Whumpee in all their tragic helplessness.
One thing they haven't considered, however, is that their own facade was slowly slipping, too.
They might have just let themselves be a little too vurnerable.
Because since when did Whumpee care about their happiness? And since when did they ask about if Whumper felt satisfied without sounding even the slightest bit sarcastic? Since when did they start begging for punishment the moment they saw Whumper having a terrible day?
