Saw that anti Salvation Army thing going around and yes that is messed up and there’s no excuse for it. However, here’s a reminder that GLAAD did nothing for the LGBT people being killed in Afghanistan even as conservative outlets begged them for help and instead got them out themselves.

Just some advice, if you want to actually help make a difference, put your money towards your own community or do lots of research on companies. A lot of the time high profile ones only care for the photo op.

NOTE: For the purposes of this appeal, 'ARE OWN' refers explicitly to Afghan families who are currently being resettled in the United Kingdom. This is because a lot of them risked their lives to help our armed forces and government officials with translation, interpreting and other tasks during the last twenty years, and to be honest even if they didn't, the United Kingdom may have had the teeniest, tiniest, weeniest role to play in this whole sh*tshow.

This is hilarious. Not sure how many racists have actually donated and not realised the money is going to refugees but it's trending on Twitter. The money is going to a group called Community Agents Essex who support people with varying needs already and will be provide support for newly arrived Afghan families.
