There's actually quite a few of the desiccated mummy egg-dudes in random tombs and such. So maybe an old burial ritual and the same stock dead person?

REALLY?! i guess i never noticed. everything about this particular quest seemed so significant, lore-wise, i figured there had to be a thematic reason for the decoration, at least. but that's me giving way too much credit where there was. . .a deadline and an over-worked environment builder.

I was tagged by the two fantastic @spacialepopee and @afragmentcastadrift, so I combined both for a long one, and I’ll answer both their questions here! 

I won’t be tagging anyone, since it’s quite long, but please feel free to do it at your leisure if you like. :)

1. Coke or Pepsi: Neither. I don’t really like colas.  2. Disney or Dreamworks: Both are capable of great animation and fantastic movies, while at the same time, they can both produce really terrible movies.  3. Coffee or tea: Tea for the most part. 4. Books or movies: Ah, both. 5. Windows or Mac: Windows. Macs aren’t bad, though. Just out of my price range. I did get pretty proficient with Macs years ago in high school animation, though, hahaha. It’s probably obsolete now.   6. DC or Marvel: A bit of both, these days. The current mainly storylines in both properties haven’t really gripped me, though. (Bombshells is amazing, however). 7. Xbox or PlayStation: As far as consoles go, the most current one I am using is a 360, hahaha. Honestly, I play most of my games on my PC/laptop (not because I’m snobbish about it. It’s just more efficient for me not to have more machines). 8. Dragon Age or Mass Effect: Why must you torment me? 9. Night owl or early riser: An early riser. I used to be both, but I’m not crazy now, so. 10. Cards or chess: Lately I’ve been playing chess with my nephew, so, chess. 11. Chocolate or vanilla: Chocolate. But sometimes I crave artificially flavored vanilla soft serves. You know, the really unnaturally white kind. 12. Vans or Converse: Vans 13. Lavellan, Trevelyan, Cadash, or Adaar: It’s a tie between Lavellan and Trevelyan when I really want to get into the story. I play Cadash and Adaar when I just want to kill things, hahaha.  14. Fluff or angst: I...actually prefer reading angst. 15. Beach or forest: Beach. I have yet to have an enjoyable forest experience. 16. Dogs or Cats: Dogs. I like cats, too, but unfortunately, I have allergies. 17. Clear Skies or Rain: Clear skies. Or, rain without thunder and lightning would be great.  18. Cooking or eating out: Cooking. But I don’t mind being treated out. :P 19. Spicy food or mild food: What type of spicy are we talking about here? Because the spicy I grew up eating is more spicy than what others have.  20. Halloween/Samhain or Solstice/Yule/Christmas: I like Halloween, because you don’t need to have realtives coming out of the woodwork for it. 21. Would you rather forever be a little too cold or a little too hot (and no the winter coats and ACs are not an option: Maybe a little cold? I’ve been told my body is warmer than others, so I should be okay. Unless the it’s a little too hot without humidity. I hate humidity. 22. If you could have a superpower, what would it be: Either shapeshifting or invisibility 23. Animation or Live action: Animation 24. Paragon or renegade? Paragade! 25. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? That list would be too long.  26. Which Mass Effect class do you play as? Team Vanguard forever  27. Shepard - dude or lady? Lady. I might have told this story before, but I was introduced to ME by my cousin. Originally, I was going to play as the male Shepard, since I was so used to female characters not being that great. But because my cousin was watching me, I was embarrassed and chose female Shepard. It was the best decision. 28. Star Wars or Star Trek: Star Wars 29. One episode per week or binge watching: I like binge watching, so sometimes I wait for there to be more episodes out of something.  30. Heroes or Villains: Heroes 31. Kill Quinn or kiss him: Who? 32. Gandalf or Obi-Wan: Obi-Wan 33. MMO or Single Player?  Single Player. Sometimes people just get in the way of an enjoyable experience. 34. Mako or Hammerhead? The Mako. There is no competition. 35. @spacialepopee’s question: Given the chance, would you join the Andromeda Initiative (or something similar) irl? If we were to leave this week? Yes.   36. @afragmentcastadrift‘s question:  If you were so inclined to cosplay as anyone, who would it be? Ah, that’s a hard one, because I like cosplaying and I have a lot of wants right now.

So, if anyone is still following me in this brief moment of technological revelation, I want to say something serious:

Lately, I've tried to be open to the experience of Not Knowing A Thing, and being okay with it. As such, I post about my JUST having come to some mundane, generally-known fact pretty frequently. I do it because I'm middle-aged and I've bought property on the barren land of fucks to give about what people think of me. And I want (almost) everyone to live there with me.

For a very long time (cough 40 yrs) the fear of seeming ignorant kept me from being awesome. Someone knows something that I don't know? Cool. Time to learn a new thing! Who doesn't love learning new things?!

Someone thinks I'm an idiot for not knowing a thing they know? Someone thinks they're better than me because of it? Thank fuck. When I learn this thing, they won't see me coming.

Rules and restrictions apply, of course. One shouldn't use Oh I Didn't Know to indefinitely shield oneself from critical social awarenesses.

Point is, we're not "having" to learn something. We "get" to. And that should never be cause for shame.

@paradiseismade Yeah, Yumblr sucks like that. Even though we consistently tagged our Postcards From Andromeda, they don’t all show up in a search, or they’re out of order. I had every intention of posting them as a collection, but I never did. Because we can’t send links via messages, here you go: You can find all of @afragmentcastadrift‘s postcards on my blog. And all of my postcards are tagged on her blog.  Between us, we wrote 70+ postcards to each other, once a week, leading up to the release of Andromeda. It’s possible that a few are missing? But I know we’re both touched and thrilled that you enjoyed reading them as much as we enjoyed writing them. <3

We sent back a message by way of a drone vessel programmed for the long FTL trek back to the Milky Way. When it gets there - *if* it gets there - it will be an antique, a curiosity, something from a bygone era suddenly distorting the comprehension of time. And within its stardust-speckled hull, the Andromeda arrival date, mission status, a list of casualties. Hardly any room for the platitudes of hope, but should it arrive intact, that might be indication enough that we are - were - still alive.

Pushed out to another forward station, but I'm too tired to enjoy the beauty of this new world. One awestruck moment from the Tempest observation deck, and then we were planetside, fighting to secure some patch of dirt to call our own. I'm more intimate with tracer fire and biotic fields than with moonlight, and dawn just means getting the Nomad over a hill. No gold horizon or taking a deep breath. But I envy those who get to drink it all in, this hope-sodden paradise that might one day be home.

Came across a corroded vessel on HD52. Single passenger ship, small, but made for distance travel. Couldn't place the origin. No remains to be discerned - no bones, no ash, no scraps of fabric or armor, and no logs. Thing is, it doesn't look to have been stripped by scavengers or wildlife. It's just empty. Abandoned and hollowed out, given over to the elements. A relic of someone's attempt to go somewhere, I'm guessing. I hope they found what they were looking for. I hope we do too.
