Check out this video from Lamine Sonko & the African Intelligence who will be performing at Kindred's Bar of Bengal this Sunday, 9 Feb at 5:30pm. They are a 10 piece ensemble led by Senegalese singer/dancer Lamine Sonko, sharing a percussive blend of jazz, funk and soul.
Influenced by the infectious afro-beat music of West Africa, Lamine Sonko & The African Intelligence delivers contemporary African funk to the Australian music scene.
Kickstarting the show at 4:15p will be Milton, an 8 piece ensemble formed by percussionist Ray Pereira that offers a repertoire of original and danceable music underpinned by the polyrhythms of Africa, Sri Lanka and the Caribbean.
Tickets are just $12/$10 concession at the door and children under 8 are free. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
