WTF Roman afros!?

  The afro-look an invention of the 1960s and 70s? You wish! Romans had it 2000 years earlier! Romans in this case means the previously Celtic inhabitants of the Roman empire, especially the ones living in what is today the western part of Germany along the Rhine, close to Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands. In a local tribe, called 'Ubians', married women used to wear huge bonnets on their heads, sort of a Ubifro to increase street cred. Ok, it doesn't seem to have been actual hair. But hey, you can't argue with that stylish look.
