After School Lessons //closed
Rin was shocked to see the blue haired boy standing in front of him asking for swimming help. Mostly Rin was surprised that Rei had come to him of all people to ask for lessons. Rin was a talented swimmer, yes, but so was Haru. Makoto and Nagisa wouldn't have been terrible teachers either, so Rin stood, staring at Rei completely baffled. Why would he choose him? Often times Rin spent his late afternoons training anyway, so adding a bit of extra time to help Rei really wasn't much of a problem.
Rei wasn't a terrible swimmer. For someone who had just started, Rin was actually quite impressed with how good his butterfly stroke was. It was a bit baffling to him how he couldn't seem to pull off the other strokes...let alone float properly. However, Rin didn't judge Rei at all, for Rei had definitely held his own against other schools.
"Alright," Rin said, speaking finally. "I'll train you." He tucked his hands into his pockets. "But it's not going to be easy," he muttered. Though Rin aimed his comment at Rei, it held true to himself. Teaching someone how to float wasn't going to be very easy, but Rin believed in Rei's ability. It was clear that he was determined.
There was absolutely no way that Rin would've refused Rei. Rei was the one who had saved Rin in a way. Though it seemed a bit over dramatic, Rin knew without Rei he would've quit swimming. Rei was the one who had let him swim with his old friends, the one who had given up his spot in the relay so Rin could remember the reasons why he swam. Rin wasn't always the best with words, so he had never truly voiced to Rei how much that had meant to him. For now, he could try and show Rei his gratefulness by teaching him to be a better swimmer.
"Did you bring your suit to get started today?" Rin asked, walking towards the pool, glancing back at Rei.
