Why are people so incredibly stubborn and annoying when they move out of this house? B is sure doing a million better than L did but just caught them struggling to move a heavy book shelf out the door at 1:30am in the dark. Like that is actively disruptive, people have work in the morning, and why didn't you ask for help?

I really need and miss touch but I worry that I'm just an unpleasant person to cuddle with at this point. If someone puts basically any weight or pressure on my legs it hurts me, which sounds straightforward but it's actually pretty awkward in more than a few positions and prevents entwining which most people really like. On top of that my neck pain is bad enough that I can only rest my head on your chest for a little while, and also I sometimes start to feel a little claustrophobic trying to share my bed (and that's with a queen). Really don't know what the solution is for this stuff, other than just trying to communicate clearly and find people who don't mind I guess?

Home is not a home for me tonight. Wish I had any friends I could crash with but I haven't cultivated that.

Two days ago I burned all my dried roses and dropped the ashes and stray petals into the river (from the bridge we went to so many times) and watched them float away. I'm trying, I swear I am.

After Words by Nina Mitchell

How differently would your life change if you could barely move or lost the ability to use language. Such a horrible thing happened to author Nina Mitchell which she writes about in the short story After Words.

After suffering from a stroke caused by internal pressure on her brain, Mitchell ends up surviving but losses her basic English comprehension. She lacks knowing the correct word for things she knows. She struggles to say normal words and complete sentences. Mitchell really writes on how it feels like to experience this with it’s frustrations and difficulties that come with it.

Like forgetting someone’s name but not their face or trying to remember a specific song name, actor’s name, or a movie but only being able to describing instead, that is how Mitchell ends up feeling about words that she knew. The manner in which she perfectly describes these feelings really makes the reader feel what she felt in those times following her stroke.

The end of the book kinda feels like Mitchell had to put in filler sentences to reach a certain amount of page numbers due to how slow and irreverent the end pages felt. But this short story is an amazing journey that Mitchell writes so well of her horrible life changing experience.
