A neighbourhood variety store. Commodities are displayed in a large screen-covered or metal barred window in front of the shop. Candies in recycled jars, canned goods and cigarettes are often displayed while cooking oil, salt and sugar are often stored at the back of the shop. They also distribute prepaid mobile phone credits. This store was rebuilt right after the typhoon. . The coastal area was badly damaged during the typhoon. Houses were washed away, vegetations were flattened and boats were destroyed. Fishing and farming were the only livelihood the people of the village are accustomed to. After the typhoon, they had to seek another alternative means of earning but most of them ended up depending on government help. It took them nearly a year to regain what they lost and to start all over again. . This is my last post for the #YolandaPH.
