#CardoftheDay 1/24/2020: #TheDevil from the #aftertarotdeck. When things become overwhelming it can be easy to settle into old and familiar patterns even when they may not be what is best for us. The Devil calls us to face this. Are we settling for what is toxic but comfortable? Faced with the knowledge that our habits are destructive, do we continue, or seek to change? It can be tempting to stay. It’s often easier. 
In a meditation once, the Goddess had said to me: “Is the process of rebirth not bloody? Is the calm not earned by virtue of endurance through the storm? Is the phoenix not brilliant only because of its time in the flame and ash? Know this. Your rebirth is coming, but the storm’s not over yet.”
Changing things, and breaking free of toxic patterns of thought and behavior is difficult. The journey can seem like forever, but in the quest of self improvement the journey is more important than any perceived destination.
