What is a Drabble?

A Drabble is a written work that is exactly 100 words long. They are often used as a challenge to see how much a writer is able to convey within a limited amount of words. For this event Double Drabbles (200 words) and Triple Drabbles (300 words) will also be allowed.

Rules & Requirements:

You must be at least 13 years old to participate.

You must post your gift to AO3 using the 'Gift this work to' feature, and your word count must be accurate to AO3's system.*

You agree to create a work with a word count of either 100, 200, or 300 words by the given dead line or you will contact a mod for an extension or pinch hitter.

You agree to follow your giftee’s requested relationships and DNW.

Please make something that you think your giftee enjoy and be sure to interact with your gift via kudos and commenting.

*The word count on the program you use to write might not calculate word count the same way as AO3 does, so be sure to check before posting! I believe google docs word count especially does not always align with AO3's. I use Ellipsus and that seems to be fairly accurate!

Are we able to write more than 300 words?

In the spirit of this being a smaller event and a word count challenge, I’m going to say no.

Can I make more than one gift?

Yes, as long as it still abides by your giftee’s requests you are welcome to. Just please be sure to focus on and complete at least one gift first.

You can use also use this opportunity to participate in the treat week!

Treating Week:

What’s a treat? It’s basically another gift! The treating period is an opportunity for those who wish to write more to do so. If you’ve still got the drabble itch, or you had an idea that didn’t fit your original giftee, then this would be the time to do it!

You will be able to opt in to receiving treats on your sign up sheet. If you opt in, your sign up (requested relationships, likes and DNW’s) will be added to a sheet for those who’d like to write more can view! Opting in does not mean you have to write more but that you’d be okay receiving a treat!

If you decide to make a treat it still has to abide by the giftee’s requests and be 100, 200 or 300 words long!

Treat week is not required and you’re not guaranteed a treat but is a fun activity if you feel like writing some more!
