I think the true tragedy of Elizabeth Afton is that it doesn't matter what her morals are.

She has to follow William. She has to because everyone else she's ever loved is dead and gone, and yes, she knows he killed her. I disappeared again, and there’s a reason which is my stupid mental health again. I was diagnosed with BPD and bipolar earlier in September. Getting new treatment but I’m still in pain
