@agaata sent: 17. Have you ever had a roleplay partner who helped you to improve something about your own writing quality?
You know I’d consider it a sad thought if someone is so self-absorbed and so self-sure that they can’t admit or say they’ve found growth and development of their characters and writing through interacting with another partner. You’d have to be at a crazy level of insulated you know? And I think I’ve met a few people like that.
Am I one? Fuck no. I’m picking up little things from all my interactions. If I’ve threaded with someone I note all kinds of things about their writing or characterization and thought about how it could help me get better. I’m not writing with them anymore but there was a blog many many years back I wrote Tokyo G.houl with who helped me with getting into my muse’s head and weaving that mental state into narration, for example.
Most recently, say in the past year, I have to hand it to @hcstofthevoid for helping me loosen up a bit from how I used to be. I never did shitposting or dash commentary, one liners were a no bueno. But he’s done a lot one way or the other to help get me out of that shell and relax with this hobby. Less big threads, more fun interactions. It’s a good time all around.
