I’ll be selling this on redbubble soon! I just gotta finish the eros version. I’m thinking about ordering this and then adding a coating of “shimmer” paint to make it... shimmer lol i dunno how to explain it, but i have paint that changes colour depending on the angle it’s being looked at.

Okay, I’m about 210% sure Walking in The Wind is an ot5 (Ot4+ Zayn and the Stunt) song. Here are the lyrics and my interpretation.

First off, I’m pretty sure the first line itself says- 

‘A week ago he said to me’

Bam. Male pronoun. Continuing,

‘Do you believe I'll never be too far If you're lost, just look for me You'll find me’

Fact that we can sit right here and say goodbye Means we've already won’

To me, the last two lines are so super important. I think they’re trying to say that the fact that they have the trust in each other to know that this stunt, the whole Zayn leaving scenario, is not going to leave any cracks in their relationship. And that shows that they've already won. They know that saying goodbye right now doesnt mean anything is changing. Endgame is ot5 and they trust in this, no matter what happens. 

‘We had some good times, didn't we? We wore our hearts out on our sleeve Goodbyes are bittersweet But it's not the end I'll see your face again’

First thing that sticks to me is the ‘we wore our hearts on our sleeve’ line. Because that’s something this fandom does associate strongly with Zayn. And I think in the past too, when it’s come up, we’ve related it to Zayn. And the boys probably know this. And the reason ‘goodbyes are bittersweet’ and not just bitter, is because, I think, in the end, they know there’s going to be a good outcome. That is, modest no longer being in the picture. And Zayn will be back. It’s definitely not the end. Which has been mentioned SO many times by them. It’s a ‘for the time being’ sort of situation. 

‘Yesterday I went out to celebrate the birthday of a friend But as we raised our glasses up to make a toast I realized you were missing’

This is basically about how they’re so used to ot5 doing things together? On stage, backstage, events, hotels, tour bus, etc. And sometimes it strikes them that Zayn’s not there at the moment. And even though it’s a stunt and endgame may be ot5, for the time being, their brother is not with them. He’s not sharing some of the very important moments with them, and that must hurt.

Basically, they’re always going to find each other. They’re always going to be there for each other. 

‘I know Just close your eyes and see I'll be by your side Any time you leave me’

Ditto. 

Basically I see this as a song written about getting through this stunt and the Zayn Leaving Narrative as a unit of 5. A strong unit of five, who are always going to be there for each other. I love it so much. They’re so strong as individuals, and their bond is so strong, and it hurts so good.
