Agaves
mi bella bestia, una foto antes de la ruta en el salado
Oh noooooo. I’ve gotten into agaves (and I’m still a sucker for echeverias...)
I think I should just face the fact that this isn’t stopping, unless there’s a full on intervention or disaster strikes. They’re not even remotely negatively affecting my life, and they always make me smile when I notice them growing.
I’ve been stabbed a few times by the two agaves I already have, but only received little glancing scrapes that didn’t bleed. So I think we can coexist fine, maybe I should make them a custom space to hang out in.
Ideally they’ll hang outside in the summer, as soon as I can get them reliable rain protection. All the cacti/succulents currently outside are doing GREAT despite the rain.
Agave potatorum “kichiokan marginata”, x mangave “bloodspot”, agave Victoria-reginae “golden princess” and echeveria “dusty violet” (cante x imbricata).
my lovely new plant, agave parryi v. truncata
Producción: Segundo paso. En el caso de #Mezcales Artesanales y ancestrales, el cocimiento es realizado en hornos cónicos mamposteados con piedra volcánica. El tiempo promedio de cocción es de 3 días. ----------------------------------- Production: Second step In Mezcal #artesanal & #ancestral, the #Agaves are cooked in pit stone ovens. The stone is volcanic and the average time to have a cooked agave is 3 days. #Mezcal #Maguey #Agave #AgaveGeeks #AgaveSpirits #CraftedSpirits #Bartender #BartenderLife #50BestBars #DeOaxacaParaElMundo #Dixeebe (at Santa Ana Del Río, Oaxaca, Mexico) https://www.instagram.com/p/BqLLc4hlr0l/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1dq5r4mwuo8z9
