Age of Panic 2023-03-17 Triple Crown Pavilion Louisville, KY
Release of the Day: AGE OF PANIC - “Fragments & Reflections” EP (self-released) No weak willed intro track to this four song EP - the Kentucky metallic hardcore outfit immediately goes into a momentous, thumpin’ beat and challenges the honor of letting up. It’s a sign of things to come for the next 11 minutes, which stay in a stasis of mid-tempo see-saw guitars and gruffly howled lead vocals. I’m down with the inclusion of brief melodic/shouted interlude vocals between pain points - think Morning Again or early Zao, and the full picture of Age of Panic emerges. Pretty complimentary to Age of Ruin, the more of I think about it...

There’s hope in the Age of Panic: Marcus Lanyon’s new solo show at White Moose Gallery, Barnstaple
With a title of Age of Panic, and accompanied by The Post Apocalyptic Colouring Book, you could think Marcus Lanyon’s new solo show at the White Moose Gallery, Barnstaple, is a little, well, pessimistic. But like a flower from compost (yes, compost), out of that potential pessimism blooms something far more beautiful and hopeful. (more…)
