When it comes to donating, giving alms and partnering with Charities and ministries, particularly in India, many are sarcastic, and some to everything in their might, to stop, that which is flowing. It is a fact that we are living in days of great changes in governance, changes of laws, change of economy and change of "human attitude" towards charity and social ministries. Thy are 100% true and right when they show how some were unfaithful or how some have amassed wealth and how untrustworthy some are. However they have not produced those who are. “trustworthy", "faithful" and how they are "accountability oriented".!
Giving is a Commandment of The Almighty God: Both in the old testament and in the New testament, God commanded his people to treat well the poor and the strangers who come to them. He also taught us a new science, that by giving we do not loose but get back in abundance and for many generations. " Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”(Luke.6:38). Many invest in share markets, in businesses and in other saving schemes. The Lord warned the danger of such investments by saying," Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:(Mt.6:19); which is 100% true in hundreds of cases.But then where to store up your treasures? He rightly said,"But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:(Mt.6:20). Many of us are holding onto the wrong philosophy which is demonic - satan wants to stop and slow down the advancement of God's Kingdom--and of this natural world. By sowing seeds, we do harvest in plentiful and fill our store house. Here again satan wants people to live under the yoke of curses, poverty, and sickness by blinding their understanding towards God way of blessing His people.
A Prostitute and her Good works: In the book of Joshua 2nd chapter and in the 6th chapter, we read of "Rahab", a lady in the fortified city of "Jericho". She had her dad, mom, brothers and sisters living with her. She was a professional Prostitute". When the people of Israel advanced towards the Promised land, under the leadership of Joshua, two spies were sent to Jericho to evaluate the city and bring forth report. And these two Israeli soldiers went in and stayed in the house of this. "Prostitute". For her, these two men were her enemies who will be destroying their nation and every living thing in their city. She could have killed them officially by sending word to the king or to the army.
Instead, she fed them and hid them and spared their lives and revealed to them, just like a prophet that the LORD WHO IS THE TRUE ONE, in whom she believed is going to give Jericho in their hands. And She bargained and begged that she and their household be saved and allowed to live. According to the law of Moses, just 2 witness is enough to stone and kill her. But they promised her safety; which was fulfilled when the Israelites, invaded their cities.
God's greatest reward: God also saw this good and kind acts of service and sparing the lives of the two jewish soldiers. He changed the contaminated and corrupted womb of this "Prostitute" because she, Acknowledged that Truly Jehovah is the Only true God and He is invincible; and saw a New Generation; "THE GENERATION OF LORD JESUS CHRIST". God changed her DNA and cleansed it to bring the Messiah of the World!
He will do the same to everyone who helps to advance His kingdom and compassion mission on earth.
Bethel Evangelistic And Rehabilitation Centre is Totally a God leaned, knee walked national NGO and missions. We show the love and compassion of God in Word and through missions of Compassions to widows, aged people, youth ministry, vocational training projects, "Self help" projects, church planting and others.
