Ok, I'm going to explain this the best I can. One thing I don't get is why some people are like 'Pray to God and he'll answer your prayers!' and it's like expected that as long as you're pure of heart/intent your prayer get's answered.
And then I do a spell and I'm told I will go to hell.
For what, being self sufficient and relying on my own power? I mean maybe I'll call on spirits/deities but like I would ask them before hand because I feel it's rude to just... call on a spirit mid ritual and be like *finger guns* Hey XYZ entity help me out, have some cakes and juice! Like no, not doing that. Most of my craft I try to rely on myself. SO yeah got off on a tangent but yes.
What is so bad about relying on your own spiritual power to achieve your magical goals? Honestly I don't see anything bad about it.
I live in a bible belt and the fear is palpable about people being witchy. Like we're just human beings doing a thing. Just because you believe it's a sin doesn't mean it's actually a sin for me, thank you very much. I do not recognize the christian god as some ultimate power in the universe. A god, sure, but no more or less then any other deity in human history.
And if anyone wants to send me a message telling me to repent or seek the christian god, I will send you a fun message. Not like a threat, that would be dumb and overly aggressive. Maybe like a joke or something.
