hey! uh, I really hope you don’t mind, but this really made me want to write something, so here you go

“Hey, Dave,” Klaus whispered into the darkness, rolling over in bed to look at the lump of blankets next to him. “Hey. Dave. Hey.”

All he got in response was quiet snoring.

“Daaave,” he tried again. “Hey, Dave. Dave. Dave.”

“Yeah?” came the sleepy response at last, Dave’s head emerging from the blankets to blink blearily at him.

“I don’t know,” Klaus admitted. “I didn't think I’d get this far.”

Dave stared at him for a moment before bursting into laughter. He reached out and pulled Klaus into a tight hug. Klaus couldn’t help but smile as he wrapped his own arms around him and Dave held him close, placing a kiss to his forehead.

“You are amazing,” Dave said, still chuckling. “Absolutely perfect, never change.”

As Klaus rested his head against Dave’s chest, he realized that this was exactly what he’d wanted without even realizing. Dave was good like that.
