I just want to make a quick birthday appreciation post. I love you Nene. I've loved you ever since I played the game, even when it was for RuiKasa, you were the most stand out to me. I've loved you ever since I read your story, and learnt the kind of person you are and grew into. Your singing voice has always made me feel so safe and so calm. Everything you've gone through has always made me adore you even more, regardless of how you think of yourself and how much you don't believe you deserve to love the person you are. You helped me see through so many sides of myself, so much of me, I've seen reflected devastatingly in you and the person you are. You inspire me. The bond you have with WxS, and the parts of your past that you've had to face in order to move forward has always made me believe that I could do the same. I'm so proud of you. It's thanks to you, my son, that I know my identity now. I love you Nene. I always will (EUEUH SORRY IF I SOUND ROBOTIC NENE I'M RLLY BAD AT THIS XC)

EmuNene edition!!

-Emu always saw that Nene was hiding something essential from the rest of WxS. From the way they found comfort in people's approaches to addressing him besides female, or how he used awkward but trying gestures in order to create habits. Not to mention the slight way they reacted when Emu started taking those signals and addressed him by how he seemed to prefer or saw Rui encourage, she was able to pick up pretty quickly on how Nene was a closeted genderqueer. She was patient, of course, she knew Nene would tell her when they were ready, and everything Emu did was a big neon heart sign that expressed her acceptance.

-Nene loves how physical Emu is with her affection. Being hugged is a big deal to Nene, who needs to be grounded in order to feel like he truly exist, so to have the ultimate form of appreciation like a hug given to him by one of his dearest friends is one of the most flattering and best things to him.

-Since Nene had a lot of dysphoria regarding the people he surrounded himself with (already self conscious and timid of his own image), he used to invalidate himself for having cis female friends like Emu who probably viewed him as one too. It was irrational and he never admitted it to someone as amazing as Emu.

-^ turns out Emu was amab and, in fact, a demigirl, which that alone wasn't the whole reassurance, but having someone he used to invalidate himself just accept to see Nene as the person they were was enough to settle some of those irrational thoughts. Plus, they got comfortable over time once he saw that coming out to their cis friends (Kohane) didn't change his identity.

-If we wanna get to /r headcanons, Nene loves it when Emu cuddles and nuzzles against his stomach. It deeply embarrasses him of course, but his girlfriend loves kissing his tummy and tickling him with his nose, especially while they're at Emu's bedroom with plushies everywhere and the atmosphere is just overall very soft and bright and safe. He's underweight but has a lot of skinny fat, which bothers him a lot, yet Emu is in love with those aspects of him, from his aforementioned tummy, to his neck, and his thighs, and she always does it with the most enthusiasm

-They both have Tomodachi life Living the Dream, and even though Nene doesn't like admitting it, he does really enjoy adding his friends in and checking in on them every day, especially when he and Emu can both visit each others island and see the 'alternate universes' they put their friends in (Rui and Tsukasa are together in Nene's world and Tsukasa and Nene are together in Emu's world)

-Nene has a surprisingly high social battery when it comes to Emu, or just WxS in general perhaps, while Emu tends to take short breaks from the world itself in intervals, whether by herself or in the SEKAI, and ever since Nene followed Emu's patterns of these intervals, he offered to essentially be a cuddle bud or a talking ted for her, which Emu greatly appreciates, as Nene definitely brought much different energies than both Rui and Tsukasa that made her gravitate towards.

Can we just appreciate how gorgeous ftm Nene is. I've seen so many edits of him, and even just using the dress up system in-game, seeing my son express himself in the eye of someone with the same identity makes me feel so comforted. He's a gorgeous person. A spectacle for gender. Defying any and all constructs. What is gender if not Nene?

MORE MORE Transmasc Nene hcs !!!!!... JUMP !!

- While Nene does like the concept of studying and can find joy in a lot of academic subjects, he is a sloth when it comes to actually doing school work. He does his best of course, and he isn't completely failing his classes, but it sucks that his drive towards furthering his studies is so low and drains his energy so much considering how important he knows it is.

- They have a hard time coming to terms with accepting any current version of themselves, so when they become dead-set on something they use as a defining trait, anything that threatens that fact will make them shrink down to practically nothing. It was most drastic with his singing, but when it specifically came to gender, one of the most liberating things was that being so certain of his identity as a masculine leaning individual made most external attempts at invalidation did not sway him. Mostly.

- He keeps diaries. Multiple, over elementary to highschool, and often very inconsistently updated, even having lost a few, which he mourns dearly.

- His mother was the kind of person who sees their child's interests and buys off brand merch of said interests. Pillows, printed T shirts, acrylic standies of characters in Nene's games or the musicals that he watches at times, which never saw the light of day after high school. (He loves them though)

- Physically is unable to cross/close his legs together when sitting or standing. It almost inexplicably hurts to attempt it.

- When Nene plays games, he used to lean towards the creature-esque characters. Whenever he played as hyper-feminine characters like princesses or badass women, they'd feel like they were intruding in some way. If they played mario cart, they'd play as Toad or Yoshi (if they played mkw they would probably play as the Moo Moo cow or vampire Waluigi or the snowman)

I think my dad tried being transphobic by calling a youtuber I was watching a girl with some snarky comment (that I didn't hear), and then an hour later referring to them as a he, like he forgot. It was so clearly deliberate the first time that it almost felt like it was meant to mess with me
