One of the funniest photos I’ve ever taken of all time is as follows:
I got some roasted chicken from the grocery store and was eating it. My cat, who like many cats, LOVES chicken, can smell this and of course comes over to beg for the good stuff (she had her own food but human food is forbidden and thus tastier in her eyes). She climbs in my lap and I push the chicken away but let her stay on the lap since it’s easier to intercept her from climbing on the table that way.
Anyway, a few seconds later, I decide to take a picture of her staring at said chicken because it’s 1. Cute and 2. Very funny. Despite this being a bad idea, I go to take the picture like a selfie and at the same time I press the button to take the photo, she decides I have let my guard down enough to make her move (which she has never done before).
Now I do not have the best reflexes (i failed at every sport I ever tried) but somehow I manage to intercept her mid leap with my free hand. She’s a tiny cat (7 pounds) so I can pretty easily do this with just one hand, though I obviously also drop the phone to manage the said attempted chicken thief. It isn’t till later, when I look at my phone, that I realize I caught the exact moment she was intercepted.
And so goes the tale of one of the best photos I ever took.
My cat has found her new favorite spot.
It’s the router.
It should be noted that this router is not big. She’s just that small. And apparently desires to access the World Wide Web.
Also it’s warm.
The first thing she wants in the morning is not food but for me to sit down in my favorite chair so it can become her favorite chair.
Absurdities of cat ownership: considering getting a second arm chair, partially for guests, but mostly so you can stop fighting your cat for your current one which she has claimed as her rightful throne.
I’m in a war of attrition and the cat is winning.

She’s so stupid, I love her so much.
