If there’s one thing Alex hasn’t gotten used to, it’s the return of normalcy after weeks of utter chaos.
Granted, things aren’t exactly normal even now. She’s director of the DEO—permanently, or at least more so than the last time she had the post—and Krypton is still around. Time travel is possible, at least by other means than a speedster, and she was part of an effort to change the course of history. An effort that succeeded.
It’s been a crazy few months.
Alex absently drums her fingers on her coffee cup, eyes glued to the door of the coffee shop. It’s been weeks since she’s seen Sam, and she misses her more than she probably should seeing as they don’t know each other all that well. She misses Ruby too, but it’s honestly nice not having to look after anyone for a while. Then again, having a responsibility like that helped her forget Maggie.
Alex’s jaw works slightly, and she takes a rather large gulp of hot coffee. The less time spent on that train of thought the better; she’s still got a headache from last night.
Some things, at least, haven’t changed.
