Pairing: Agent00 x Camerawoman!Reader
Summary: Agents main camera man is on vacation so he for his irl stream to hire a new one for what he thought would be temporarily.
“Alright is the mic working?” Agent asked, while adjusting the wireless microphone on his shirt.
You had recently been hired, since his last cameraman went on vacation, which you couldn’t be more grateful for agent payed well and he was more than open to fulfilling your needs as you worked.
You pulled off the protective cap on the camera, and turned it on, pointing it towards him to see if it was in focus. “Say something real quick.” You stated, as you turned on the microphone button.
He cleared his throat and shifted his weight, suddenly way more focused once the red light blinked on. “Uh… testing…” he said, then gave a small nod. “Mic’s working?”
You checked the audio levels on the screen. “Yeah. It’s picking you up fine.”
He relaxed a little, folding his hands together in front of him while he waited for you to adjust the framing. “You do this a lot?” he asked casually, eyes flicking between you and the lens.
“Pretty often..” you replied, keeping your focus on the settings even though you could feel him looking. “Every setup’s different, but you get used to it.”
You could feel his gaze deeply, but you couldn’t tell if it was out of curiosity or something else, you decided to ignore it. “Alright we’re live in ..3…2..1”
He then put on his usual streaming voice, full of energy and enthusiasm. “Alright welcome chat, today we’re gonna be hitting up a small bakery, to see if Atlanta has a new hidden gem”
The chat then was full of people respond with.
“W Mukbang stream”
“Bro is NOT gonna get those abs by November at this rate 💔💔”
“Finally bro decided to stream”
And a whole array of W’s and twitch emotes, you followed Agent as he walked to his truck, he then went over to the passenger side opening the door for you holding his arm out.
“Ladies first..” he stated, which got a small giggle out of you that was quickly noticed by the chat.
“Who is that?”
“That doesn’t sound like mondo??”
“NOT AGENT CHEATING ON EMILY 💀”
As you both sat in the truck, agent looks at his phone glancing over some of the messages in ongoing chat. “Chat, don’t worry about who that is..” he said, looking over at you with a subtle smile that was caught on camera. “If she wants to introduce herself she can…”
He then started up the truck pulling out the driveway of the Amp house and driving out of the neighborhood, you dimmed down the camera’s light slightly to make sure it wasn’t directly in his eyes.
He then gave you a signal to mute the microphone, which you did quickly. “Do you wanna introduce yourself?” His voice was serious, as he’d carefully turn his head looking at you while keeping his eyes on the road.
You thought about it, sure it was nice to get your name out there but you were a little camera shy, you had gotten so used to being the person behind the camera for so long.
“Yeah sure I don’t mind..” You blurted out. You then semi awkwardly turned the camera around and waved. “Uhm..hi! I’m Y/N, I go by N/N but either one is fine…” You muttered.
Agent then followed with. “Anddd.. you are?” You could tell he had picked up on your nervousness, so he was trying to make you feel a bit more comfortable.
“I’m a professional Videographer, and…I’m taking mondo’s place until he’s back from vacation.” You stated, looking out the window as you passed multiple buildings.
Agent nodded once, eyes still on the road. “Alright.”
The chat then erupted with various emotes and messages.
“Why is she lowkey fine..”
“I’m about to start shipping Y/Ngent”
“She’s so pretty, I hope we see her in a different stream”
“W career”
The car stayed quiet for a bit, the city noise slipping in through the cracked window. You kept your attention on the buildings, trying not to overthink your own introduction.
After a moment, he spoke again, voice even. “So Mondo filled you in on what we’re doing today?”
“Mostly…” you said. “He just told me you needed coverage for the IRL stream.”
“Yeah.” He shifted his grip on the wheel. “Nothing complicated. We’re just going to a bakery to try some of their stuff.”
You nodded. “..I can work with that.”
A few hours later you had finally arrived, it was a small restaurant with a half broken sign and one of lights had went out, you both got out, you making sure the camera was still on and the mic working clearly.
“Alright chat this is the place, let’s see if it’s a 10/10 or a 2/10..” Agent said, with an unsure look on his face.
You adjusted the camera strap on your shoulder as he approached the front door, the chat spamming guesses about what the inside looked like. Agent glanced back at you for a second, almost like he was checking to make sure you were still rolling.
“You ready?” he asked, pushing his hood back a little.
You gave him a small nod. “Yea..camera’s good..Go ahead.”
He let out a quiet breath and pulled the door open, Revealing a small bakery with dusted windows and one half broken light flickering and the floor having a few broken tiles.
He then walked up to the lady at front, she was older Hispanic lady with a smile as sweet as sugar. “Hello, What would you lovely couple like to order?” She said with a smile.
That kinda shocked you a bit making you nervous again, you then looked towards Agent he handled it well.
“Nah we aren’t dating she’s my camera woman.” He addressed.
The lady’s eyes then lit up she rushed around the counter and guided you both to a table, as you both sat down she rushed to get the menus.
Agent grabbed his phone and scrolled through the chat again, reading some of the messages with a laugh. “Chat, I honestly don’t know what I’m gonna order..” he said as he turned towards you.
“You want anything?” he asked, you had to admit that it was a thoughtful gesture.
You nodded, as the lady soon came out with the menus. “Take your time..” she said before walking off.
You opened yours, eyes moving down the list. Simple dishes, nothing too fancy.
Across from you, Agent flipped through his menu quietly, the stream chat faintly buzzing from his phone propped against the napkin holder. He wasn’t putting on a show right now just actually trying to figure out what to eat.
“Anything decent?” he asked without looking up.
Your eyes landed on the chocolate croissants, looked buttery and delicious with a soft coating of chocolate and one side and chocolate covering the insides.
“I like the chocolate croissant” You said while turning the menu towards him.
He nodded in agreement. “It looks pretty good, I’m just gonna get some cinnamon rolls.”
You raised a brow. “For dinner?”
“They’re on the menu” he said, like that was enough explanation. “Chat can’t judge me if the restaurant approved it.”
Chat definitely would judge him, but you didn’t say anything. You just adjusted the camera slightly so it wouldn’t catch the people at the table behind him.
The waitress passed by again, collecting empty glasses from another booth. Agent leaned back in his seat, arms loosely crossed, eyes flicking to the stream for a moment.
“You ever try them here?” he asked.
“No” you replied. “First time I’m even stepping inside this place.”
“Same.” He looked around once more, then shrugged. “Could be fire, could be trash. We’ll find out.”
The waitress eventually returned with two waters and a quick, “Food won’t be long.”
Agent thanked her, then glanced at you, not in any deep or flirty way just checking that everything was still running smooth.
“You good with the lighting?” he asked.
“Yeah.” You replied. “The cameras oddly clearer here.”
He nodded, tapping the table lightly with one finger.
“Alright. Now we wait.”
A few minutes later the waitress had finally came out with the desserts, they were neatly placed on a platter sitting onto of a tray. She set everything down carefully, sliding the cinnamon rolls toward Agent and your dessert toward you.
“Let me know if you need anything else.” she said before walking off.
Agent pulled the plate a little closer, eyeing the rolls like he wasn’t sure if he trusted them yet.
“Chat, they actually look solid,” he said, leaning in a bit so the camera picked up the details.
You took the chance to adjust the focus, making sure the shot stayed clean. He noticed, just barely, and moved his hand out of the frame without you having to say anything.
He picked up his fork, cutting into one of the rolls. The steam that rose up must’ve surprised him, because he paused.
“Oh…nah, they fresh fresh.”
You tried yours quietly while he took a bite. He chewed once, twice, then nodded slowly.
“Aight… yeah. This is good.”
You took your own bite and the croissant was surprisingly delicious, it was buttery on the outside and sweet on the inside, chocolate and even a little caramel.
Agent glanced at you for a second.
“You like yours?”
“Yeah” you replied, simple as that.
He went back to eating, and the table settled into a comfortable quiet just the low restaurant noise, the stream scrolling, and the sound of him occasionally tapping the plate with his fork.
By the time you both stepped outside, the air had cooled down. The restaurant door shut behind you with a soft click, and the neon sign buzzed faintly overhead. Agent adjusted his backpack strap and held his phone up so chat could see the empty street behind him.
“Aight chat, that spot was actually decent..” he said, walking a little ahead before slowing so you could catch up. “I’d give it… maybe a seven.”
You stayed slightly off-camera, making sure the mic still picked up his voice. The night was calm, quiet nothing dramatic, just a clean ending to a long stream.
He looked at the screen one last time. “But yeah, I’m gonna wrap it up here. Appreciate y’all for hanging out.”
Comments flew by, but he didn’t react to most of them. He lowered the phone a bit, and his voice dropped just enough that it wasn’t for chat anymore.
“You enjoy it ?” he asked, glancing toward you.
“Yeah…” you said. “You?”
He nodded once, slow, almost thoughtful. “Yeah.”
There was a small pause, kind that happens when you both realize the night’s winding down but neither of you’s rushing it.
He tilted the phone down to finally end stream, but before he hit the button, he angled his head slightly toward you.
“Thanks for today” he said quietly. Not performative, not for show just honest.
Your eyes met for a moment, and something about the way he said it not heavy, not trying lingered a bit more than it should’ve.
You gave a small nod. “Anytime...”
He clicked “end” on the stream, the screen going dark.
For a second, he didn’t move. He just breathed out a slow, tired laugh, the kind that comes after hours of being “on” then looked over at you again this time without the camera, the chat, or the performance.
“Ready to head out?” he asked, voice low.
And the way he said it… felt a little different now that it was just the two of you.
A/N: should I make a part 2?
