You went on a stakeout with Agent Aubrey. Rain tapping against the unmarked FBI SUV. The suspect in question’s apartment building loom across the street and was definitely not empty as dispatch claimed. You checked your weapon again out of habit. “That’s the fourth time you’ve checked your weapon.” Aubrey noticed immediately. “And?” you asked, without looking at him. “And statistically” he adjusted his jacket. “you’re overthinking or some things are about to go very wrong.” He responds. Your phone buzzed. Booth was confirming backup was still 10 minutes out so you reached for the door handle but he stopped you. “wait” “if he bolts, we’ll lose him” you say “if we rush in and it’s a trap we’re goners.” He countered. a light flickered on in the apartment window, “sorry I’m not waiting, but I’ll keep you safe James .” You handcuffed him to the steering wheel and stole his handcuffs before stepping out. “Y/l/n Wait” “I’ll be careful” You enter the building slowly. The suspect was rushing out the door. “stop FBI” You point your weapon. He charges at you and you cover your face as you wait for impact, but nothing happens besides a body hitting the floor. You uncover your face to reveal Aubrey with a taser and a glare on his face. “Next time I tell you to wait, you wait understand?” He drops the taser. “How-“ “I keep a spare key in the car just in case” he admits. “Well uhm thanks for the rescuing” You got on your tippy toes and kissed his cheek. “Anytime” he slightly blushed before the team came in and arrested the suspect. “So want to catch dinner?” He asked. “As a celebratory dinner or a date?” You raised an eyebrow. “Will you agree to the second option?” He questioned. “Of course I’d love to” you smile.
