She didn’t want an explanation.

Of anything.

When he showed up at her door, all that mattered was the feel of his lips against hers.  She liked the way his beard scratched her cheek, and how prior protocol meant nothing beyond the threshold; if they mattered at all now.

Inez didn’t know much about the situation — no more than what the TV told her — only that tables turned and he was involved; centered.  All she really cared about was that she got to see him — feel him — again.

The only side she took was the one that got him out of those clothes the fastest.

Even after all those years, Grant still visited her grave.

Much had changed since Skylar's passing, but the impact she left on the agent had never left him. It was strange really -  he was a man who had been so driven by the rational world, yet he had been so enthralled by someone who sat so comfortably on the other end of the spectrum. She had frustrated him to no end, but he couldn't remember a morning when he hadn't looked forward to seeing her.

That pang of guilt had never left his chest - but he learned to remind himself how much being around Sky had changed him. He had spent so much time so afraid of letting her get to close to him that when she passed, he couldn't help but see all the lost potential. Though he would never again find someone like Skylar Sigma, after her passing he never once took anyone for granted.
