Most people know that I spend all of November celebrating you but only a few know that it was in October that we were actually delivered the devastating news. 11 years ago today we received unconfirmed suspicion of you ALS diagnosis. 11 years ago today we waited with heavy hearts to find out what could be the only real answer for what had happened to your body in such a short period of time. 😪 I remember sitting with you as they ran tests. I remember making that call to my siblings to tell them the sad truth. I remember us deciding to fight however we could to get you better...Only to find out you’d been battling this horrific disease for about 10 years without any of us knowing. Agent Orange did this to you and God intervened. He gave you 10 years of living life to the fullest admits this horrific disease in your body. And He saved you from further suffering when He welcomed you home. But the pain left behind is still real. I miss you every day, daddy!!! I hate that you’re not here to see Victoria Maggie Dominick and Giavonna grow up. I hate that you’ve never met Brenda or got to see your only son get married. I hate that the four of us are without your kindness and wisdom and support. And i really hate that mom doesn’t get to have her husband by her side. 💔 I hate that a senseless war took you and so many others from us. This is another example of the hypocrisy of many #prolifers that i cannot stand. I love you, daddy!!! Love and support to all the men and women who fought for our country and came into contact with agent orange. My dad served during Vietnam and worked on the carriers that dropped this horrific chemical. As a result he was diagnosed with ALS in October of 2009 and died just 6 weeks later. The destruction of his body and the loss of his ability to raise a spoon to his mouth or sleep without choking as his lungs filled with fluid was nothing short of horrifying. I can only imagine what the victims of this chemical warfare continue to deal with each day. 😞 Tomorrow I’m attending a pro life rally in support of my sister who is speaking. I wonder how many of those who attend will consider this reality as they preach dignity for all life yet support wars which devastate everyone in their path.
