basically what i did with inny. started as a scientist, drafted as a sniper later.

ye i think that's what i'm gonna end up going with

considering i can actually come up with a goddamn name for a scientist PI. find me a good I word that has anything to do with sniping, i swear it's next to impossible

now my only problem is coming up with a reason why an awkward scientist is tagging along to derse with an ambassador and his bodyguard

also what the hell his symbol would be

hmm

would it be better to make prospitan PI a sniper, to explain how who he's got those great sniper rifle skills around the end of problem sleuth

or to make him a scientist, to explain why he's got a surprising amount of abilities related to robots and lasers and particle accelerators

the latter would make him a lot easier to name, and i think would possibly fit him slightly better

but the former offers more interesting characterization? like it could maybe help account for why he was more closed off at the beginning of problem sleuth and why he tends to be more anxious and why he got upset with sleuth shot some thugs in front of him, etc

i am maybe considering the idea that he started out as a scientist and as of agentquest still is one but is later drafted as a marksman when prospit starts to get desperate during the war, but i'm not sure how likely that would really be in a society where everyone is cloned and programmed at birth to fit a certain role? idk, maybe they're really desperate, i mean it's hard to compete with a bunch of huge fucking meteors

going back to the former i'm having a little trouble deciding why a scientist would be tagging along with an ambassador, though. a sniper tagging along is more or less just another bodyguard, only this one can hit from further way

i came up with a name i liked for prospitan ps finally, by the way

much snappier than what i'd come up with before

in the au lots of people simply refer to him as "the ambassador" though, in the same way that a lot of people refer to jack as the archagent

it's mostly the people who are close to him who will just yell "SCRIBE" when they need his attention

unless you're PI, in which case you will politely stutter it to get his attention

fussing over prospitan titles for the problem sleuth characters

i've been trying to come up with a better title for sleuth for a while, because tbh i keep thinking "prospitan smoothtalker" looks sort of weird written out, and doesn't roll off the tongue very well

this is sleuth we're talking about, he needs something a little snappier and preferably less than six syllables

problem is, apparently there is not a single P or S word that has to do with diplomacy or negotiating, fucking hell unless i'm missing something i swear i can't find a single one

"peaceful solicitor" has been the best i've come up with so far and i'm not 100% sure it works for sleuth

idk what does everyone else think; is anybody super attached to prospitan smoothtalker or something? or does anybody with a bigger vocabulary have any better ideas, that might help

there are no good "i" words for sniper

i like how polite incendiary sounds but idk, that'd work better for someone who sets fire to things possibly for political reasons rather than a sniper/assassin

This is probably too late to be posting this, is anyone even online

expect the first page of Agentquest to be up this weekend, most likely on the 11th.

I still gotta fiddle with the layout of the tumblr more and make a banner, but

even as much as I keep doubting I can actually pull through with it or wishing I had someone to help me with it or wondering if it's worth doing at all

I hope you're ready to give Prospitan Smoothtalker some commands
