QUESTION TIME: what is your writing process? I have a difficult time sustaining momentum for writing, but you're cranking 10k words out every month, and I'm curious how you go about that. I def admire it!
imma be real with you cheif, the idea that i have a process for writing is laughable. i sit down. sometimes words happen. sometimes a lot of words. usually a few words. sometimes no words and i roll around in my inadeqacy and crippling executive dysfuction.
music helps me a lot. i wrote like, damn near all of chapter 10 while listneing to Weather by Novo Amor on loop-- short of the flashback, which was Emil-Sacrifice. if I can find a song that vibes with what i am writing shit gets done-- The Mind Electric was HUGE for Eodwulf’s remove curse scene. That shit was fire and i dont think i would have written it half as well without the mood music.
Katt’s been a big help as well. Like, since this is a collerbation, especially since she does art and I handle most of the writing, if im slacking i can tell myself that katts already done her art for the chapter, so i gotta shape up and let people see it because that shits beautiful bro. setting dealines for yourself also helps, especially when you tell someone else becuse that makes you accountable. This saturday i decied i wanted to get shit done before the new episode of critical role happened since Eodwulf and Astrid random encounter in canon rates are skyrocketed in rexxentrum, and i wrote like... everything from Fjord asking beau if she thinks caleb not wanting to join eodwulfs plot was weird. Not to mention when im stuck on something i can talk it out with her which usually helps a lot. thoughts are messy when theyre in your head, so you gotta write em down. personally i find overly detailed notes can shake out my desire to actually write, so i do shitty half assed meme notes that dont really quality as writing. lets me have a guideline without losing speed.
honestly writing is hard. sometimes you jut gotta do it. it might not be your best work, it might not even be good work, but just keeping on it is important imo. this was rambly whoops
