It's so fucked when you like a piece of media that's very good in a lot of ways but also has tropes you HATE.
Like I guess with Madoka the main series isn't too bad (by anime standards) with this but the side stuff, Magica exedra et cetera (I'm not knowledgeable of most of the extended girls beyond their appearance in exedra) have a lot more sexualised character designs.
You do not need to design this character to have no bottoms other than underwear. This isn't necessary. This doesn't serve the character design the vast majority of the time. You don't need to draw the fabric hugging this character's body this way!!! What purpose does this design choice do to serve the story? It doesn't look good and it doesn't add to the character what are we doing here!?
