I genuinely love orange and Backwards relationship because Backwards HATES this guy and Orange likes Backwards/he cares for it. And I do understand that Orange does not know what love feels like nor does he know love in general(if I remember correctly), so it can't really be classified as Toxic yaoi(I mean like if u hc it or just ship them in general then yeah it's really yummy yaoi/Not judging :3) BUT I have a proposition/theory, Orange has directly stated that he can bring people back from the dead and HAS before, Example: RED ANON. And let's not forget that Orange has been living since the 1500s, maybe even a bit before that! And that means ORANGE ANON IS AROUND 526 YEARS OLD. It's clear that something must have happened during those 526(ish) years for Orange to turn out like that. So what could have possibly happened? That's the thing, We don't know, but I personally think that Something possibly happened when he was about in his Mid 30s/early 40s, mostly judging because of his build, and with his long torso, and specfically stated "torso longer than most" in his Refrence sheet, and that makes you wonder is the height normal or is it not? the average human male height is around 5'11, and the percentage of a man being 6ft or taller is around 14%. Which means that Orange definitely fits into the 14%. But we also need to take in account of his Scoliosis(he definitely has it look at that posture). From his collar bone to his chin which from what I can see and measure (although not completely accurate) seems to be an Obtuse angle more or less, and while I can't come to an exact conclusion I'm 68% sure that his neck and his collar bone distance is at least 4-6 inches. So we also have to account that into his actual height. Going back to the 6ft or taller thing: since Orange has a torso longer than most I'd argue that He's At LEAST taller than 6'1. And with the fact that men over 6ft have torsos at least 18-20+ inches, He would HAVE to be around 6'6, but including the extra inches from the collar bone and if he goes into an actual straight posture that would add 4-6 inches, which could just make him still 6'6 or 6'7(no it's not the stupid pun.. shush), POSSIBLY TALLER but most likely not. And The Human spine starts deteriorating/making you SHORTER at 40(slowly starts at 20-30 but becomes more rapid in 40s. I've been here for two hours writing this). So he could have been taller but age took a toll on him. ANYWAYS!!!
back to what I think happened to him. I think that he experimented on HIMSELF, he also has "Piercings". Which I think it was from experimenting on himself to 'Improve' his body at the very least. And speaking of experiments, I think he tested stuff on himself So much, so often that he achieved immortality or very VERY long life, but I'd lean to the immortality option because of his capabilities and bringing people back from the dead, and for the fact HE OWNS LITERAL FUCKING SOULS. Another example: my beautiful Backwards anon. Orange canonically owns Backwards Soul via deal. backwards needed for his arm, and bones to be fixed because he "needs them to stop hurting" which is very true. (It said this during one of him and oranges interactions)! and Orange gladly helped him, although getting annoyed from it's paranoia, he didn't complain much. BUT on December 25th(I'm 90% sure, I don't have the exact tab pulled up rn), that is the day Orange said that he'd kill Backwards, WHICH IS WHAT STARTED THIS. Orange said He wanted Backwards to stay with HIM, and that his facility is IT'S home now. And the mod has stated that Orange could EASILY destroy Backwards soul(?) if he was away for too long. Now this is 90% bluff, can he do it if he was REALLY motivated to? Fuck yeah do not understand this old ass ho. But is he going to do it? Most likely, No. Orange genuinely cares for Backwards but doesn't know how to show it because he has lived for so damn long. Now I bet you're thinking "tf r u talking about"
BUT STICK WITH ME! This man has lived since/before the 1500s, and that has to had played some part in his emotions, because imagine having your goal to be so high that you start experimenting on yourself and eventually gain damn well near immortality. You just don't die at that point. Which would definitely do something to your psychological health. You're alone and alive for 526+/- years. Wouldn't you want at least one person to accompany you at the very least? Now, THIS is Where I go onto my MAIN FUCKIN POINT!!! HELL YEAH. Orange will bring/Keep Backwards living forever, and keep it tied to him. And this Actually is a common thing found in abusive relationship (platonically, sexually, or otherwise), The abuser will most likely Separate the victim from friends, family (which Backwards has neither of them, unless you count Transparent and Purple as friends). also yes, I do know that backwards is allowed to leave BUT he always has to come back, and here's the thing ORANGE HAS STATED THAT HE WOULD LOCK BACKWARDS IN THE FACILITY SO HE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO LEAVE BECAUSE HE KEPT GETTING KIDNAPPED WHICH IS OUT OF HIS CONTROL, and he has ENCOURAGED Backwards to kill purple, and Backwards would not be able to Mentally handle that because of how much guilt crushes him. This man has eaten only rats and Rabbits, which he feels bad after eating so he doesn't talk about it. (This was when he was still living in the woods). Also physically he'd get his shit rocked! His ass is weak as hell!!! So going back to the habits of abusers, I've already talked about that, so let's talk about the Victim. BACKWARDS!
Depression is most likely to happen with Mentally ill people: and in this case it would be Backward's heavy paranoia. Paranoid Personality Disorder (PPD) is a mental health condition marked by the pattern of Distrust, and suspicion. Sound familiar? PPD can also be seen as Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective disorder, and severe manic episodes in bipolar disorder. Now it has not been confirmed if he has any of this, BUT. BUT, with the "Incident™" it's more than likely that Backwards is indeed effected by PTSD, Post traumatic stress disorder. Meaning this man is more than likely not mentally healthy, and the fact that it's been confirmed that he does not eat regularly/doesn't eat that much, also adds to his weakness because he most likely lacks some vitamins. This man cannot fight, and if he ever does he is heavily affected by the guilt therefore does not talk about it, he is also more than likely Affected by PPD and Depression. Depression can obviously lead self harm and Suicide.
It is more than likely that at some point of Backwards existence with Orange and his Torture(bro literally ripped off a fingernail and threatened to take his eye)/abuse, that Backwards would Kill himself. It's more that it would try to take it's own life multiple times. He has directly stated that he is not sure if he's afraid of death anymore. therefore would he really be that scared to shoot or would he accept it? Something tells me it's the second option. I think that after a few years it would become so unbearable that it wouldn't be able to take it anymore. It's clear that he had 'Learned helplessness', where he has accepted everything that has happened to him and does nothing to stop it nor do anything to try and prevent it. Honestly they have a relationship Similar to AM and Ted from I have no mouth and I must scream, with Orange being AM and Making Backwards keep living despite his torment and agony, just like AM does to Ted.
