I know it. I KNOW IT. AnimationEpic, JacknJellify, they're in cahoots. Trying to force poor people to make hard decisions because that's what their shows are all about.
Have you ever wondered WHY bfdia 23 is being announced to release in theaters at the same TIME all those ii plushies are being announced?
It's because those both cost money. Picture this, you started a minimum wage job, or you just got allowance from your parents, or you found a $50 bill on the ground somewhere and you feel RICH. You, naïvely, think you're going to get everything you could ever want in the next few weeks.
Now picture this. AnimationEpic, creator of one of your favorite shows starts announcing plushies of some of your favorite characters. You've known they were eventually going to release your all-time favorite for a while, he won the first plush vote of course they were going to release the plush. And you've had the tremendous luck of having money before it released.
Picture this. The bfdia 23 theater chart has just been posted and you live closeby to one of the theaters it's going to air in. Great! You're getting plushies AND a movie ticket.
Picture this. You recall the average price of a single plush on the former ii merch website, before they cut ties with CreatorInk. You start googling prices for the theaters near you and after some vague and uncertain yet intense math, you realize there's no way you'll be able to afford everything you want.
Now picture this. If you go to the theater, there's a high chance you won't be able to get the plushies before they release and sell out, if they haven't already by the time the damn thing airs.
Picture this. You live in a rather expensive place, being close to a theater and all. And suddenly you get an idea.
...picture this. It wasn't hard to find someone willing to buy your house. You found somewhere a couple days away thats less than half the price. Less than half the quality too, but who the hell cares?
Okay, maybe you do care. Maybe the pastel green butterfly wallpaper was something you wish you could've taken with you to the new place. Maybe you'd miss the popcorn ceiling. Maybe you were worried some of your stuff would get damaged in transport.
But picture this. It was the only way sans lottery winnings or being contacted by a legitimate Nigerian prince that you'd be able to afford it all. But you knew the chances of either of those were slightly more likely and slightly less likely than finding a real life cryptid respectively.
So picture this. You're living in a trailer park in the middle of nowhere. You barely have internet. You're having that reoccurring nightmare about the sunset again. You're disheveled, scorned, battered and bruised, you need to travel three hours to get to the nearest grocery store.
But you got everything you wanted, right?
What were you supposed to do, skip out on the theater? And miss a limited time experience featuring another of your favorite shows? Sure, you could've let those ii plushies sell out. You didn't need one of each, did you?
But you knew deep in your heart that you weren't ever going to be happy without them.
Back up a bit, and picture this. You can afford two of the following three things: a movie ticket, the plushies, and continued living in your place of residency.
Tough decision, huh? Well it's by design.
Five plushies? That's. That's a ridiculous amount of plushies to release at the same time. How are people going to afford all five?? And then JNJ with the screening.
Something like this has happened before, remember the Hermitcraft Signed TCG Card Event. But that's beside the point, what needs to happen now is we need to figure out why they're trying to make people make these decisions.
this ask is ridiculously funny to me but also i get it
