I find it so ironic that I’m a Healer trainee, as is my roommate, and yet I find myself so sick. I think I’ve grown immune to pain potions. Some send help. And maybe a lot of food because getting up to cook sounds exhausting.

It's the moment every sixth year looks forward to: Apparition lessons! I know, I'm a little bit surprised Professor MacNair didn't take them away from us, too, but I'm certainly not going to complain. Not that I'm worried about getting splinched, but does anyone have any advice about the best ways to avoid it? Clothes that are better for Apparating than others are, things to do to clear your head before you try, that sort of thing?
Are you freaking kidding me?
I get to school all excited about starting my last year only to find out Professor X has been fired? And that they replaced him with MacNair? I can’t even be excited that we’ve got McCoy back or that our new DADA Professor is the Black Canary because the rest of this is all such bullshit.
Maybe this is insensitive..
But I still can’t get over the fact that New Zealand won last week at the World Cup. Seriously. New Zealand. Land of hobbits and not much else? I thought it was just reject Australia but apparently they’re capable of winning a World Cup, who’d have ever thunk.
I went into Muggle London...
...to get a few things ready for Olly’s birthday surprise, and I have to say, Big Ben being gone didn’t really seem real until I saw it with my own eyes like this. It’s like there’s a hole in the heart of the city! I’ll never be able to watch Peter Pan the same way again. Fortunately, everything else seems to have reopened and gone back to normal around the area, though; Muggles are so much more resilient than people give them credit for.
Just in Time!
As I am a poor kit just outta school with no famous connections, I am obviously not in Rio this week. However I did manage to make the most of the last few days to completely overhaul my place to celebrate the World Cup all the same! Anyone that’s stuck in Hogsmeade (or just around in general) is more than welcome to come by for grass seats in the living room where the wireless is on loud and the ceiling’s gotta proper projection of Italy versus Russia!

An update, of sorts...
I’ve been missing for a week. Don’t worry, I’m fine, I haven’t done something stupid like find a time turner and go back in time to the dawn of the dinosaurs. Although, that would be fascinating...
Any way, tangent. I was sent away last week by my bosses to Wales. We had a break in two weeks ago on a Sunday and had quite a few ingredients stolen, so Mr. Pippin and Co. decided it would be best if I went to get the new ingredients.
I’ve had a great time but I’m glad to be back home. How is everyone? Have I missed anything?
I look forward to hearing from you all.
Al.
@ravenchloe: Singing with a slightly swollen mouth isnt that great. At least I'll be ready for the World Cup! Despite getting my teeth removed.
