The story of Alexandria and William Remington is a short yet extremely fiery tale. What began as hate and loathing turned into a passionate love that was extinguished far too soon.
William was a man who hate the Maxsons – all of them equally. Despite being nothing short of an outcast, Alexandria’s lineage earned her a piece of his scorn though the man had never met her before in his life. That alone set them on the wrong foot that would be years in the repair. The two were like bristling cats around one another until Alexandria simply began ignoring William all together, as if he didn’t exist. If not for that fact that her cousin married his cousin, perhaps it would have ended there.
But no….life had to screw with them a bit more. The turning point for the two of them came when William saved Alexandria’s life. Yes – that is correct. The pompous Lord of Fire actually did a good thing, and ironically for the very person whose life was all about saving others. He found her barely conscious and poisoned within the forests of what was then still Xylaria. It was only through working together to get the required ingredients to counteract the poison that Alexandria survived the day. A day that saw the embers lit between the two of them.
Day by day William came to learn that Alexandria was not like the other Maxsons he had known. She was different – better. He began to make excuses to be around, and slowly their constant bickering turned from vicious and more joking. Soon it became obvious to all that the two were a pair…no matter how hard they tried to hide it or argue otherwise. And in the end, William proposed – asking Alexandria to marry him. A feat that to this day no one seems to have figured out. How could a woman of the Earth have tamed the Fires within?
But the love story ended all too soon. Not long after the engagement, William and his cousin both disappeared…never to be seen again. It rang far to closely to the first time she had ever had her heart broken, though this time it was far deeper than the last. The years have come and gone, and both are thought to be dead, though neither Alexandria or her cousin will admit that aloud to anyone. Both cousins do their best to hide the pain, putting on smiles and throwing themselves into their duties.
...But behind those smiles are very broken hearts…
