Despite all the... choices made on the show, casting Agnes Born as Vereena was a good one.

The way the story was adapted is obviously not really what I expected but I like Vereena’s physical acting. Highly creepy and unsettling, at odds with her looks. The chittering noise was on point. And at the very end? When there’s the breaking bone thingy, and she twists her arms and then her head to reach Nivellen? Shivers. I don’t exactly remember how it went in the book word for word but I felt similarly horrified which is exactly what I was looking for.
