Being an atheist out of agnostic reasons
A friend of mine, who studied philosphy with me, uses to say that as a philospher searching for truth one has to be an agnostic. If there is neither enough evidence to prove or to disprove the existence of a god, the only truth you've got in this question is, that you don't know whether there is a god or not. And, yes, from this perspective I am an agnostic. I don't know whether there is a god or not.
But I also am an atheist. And that's because if there is not enough evidence for the existence of a god, there will be not enough reason to assume there is a god either. Especially there will be no reason to believe in a god with certain qualities or even certain commands after which I am supposed to live my life. That's it.
