these key out to Agrilus politus but i've never seen them with this sort of coloration before, plus the host plant is wrong so I'm gonna need to consult the buprestid wizard once he gets back from vacation

Destroyer of Ash, this is #Agrilus planipennis an invasive #Buprestid that has invaded North America where it feeds on Ash trees. Beautiful and sad at the same time.
#2078 - Agrilus sp.
One of the many Agrilus species jewel beetles - and it really is many, since Agrilus is the biggest genus in taxonomy - over 3000 described species.
Like other jewel beetles, Agrilus larvae are borers, and the adults, if they feed at all, feed on leaves. The NE Asian species Agrilus planipennis, or Emerald ash borer, is highly invasive and destructive in Europe and North America.

Yesterday I met this beautiful oak splendour beetle (Agrilus biguttatus) in the ruins of the Falkenstein Castle.🌞🏰🌳 --------------------------------- ⠀ ↪ FOLLOW ↩ 🙎 #megagroundsloth 🐞 #megapetsloth --------------------------------- #sixlegs #taunus #agrilus #insectos #jewelbeetle #naturaleza #insecta #tiere #ruins #oak #species #entomology #insekt #zoology #eichenprachtkäfer #naturverliebt #zoologia #littlecreatures #beetles #insetti #kleinetiere #animalia #beautifulcreatures #biologie #entomologia #bicho #käfer #hessen (at Burgruine Falkenstein) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeQ9ZKjNe1A/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Agrilus ferrisi
The horribly invasive and destructive, albeit pretty, Agrilus planipennis or the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). This invasive pest from Asia is slowly decimating all of our Ash and Fringe Trees in the US. Some signs and symptoms of an infected Ash are shoots of the tree growing straight from the trunk, major dieback of the crown, and D shaped exit holes. If you believe you have found an infected tree, contact your state's agricultural department. #agrilus #agrilusplanipennis #emeraldashborer #insect #beetle #coleoptera #buprestidae #invasivespecies #pest

Destroyer of Ash, this is Agrilus planipennis an invasive Buprestid that has invaded North America where it feeds on Ash. trees. At this point all ash trees in North America are threatened and could ecologically eliminate them from North American forests. On the other hand it is a beautiful Buprestid beetle that simply was brought to the wrong place. This particular specimen came from Maryland.
