HELLO YES I HAVE MY ANSWER PREPARED <3<3
first off my favourite dewey webby episode is The Spear of Selene!! and my favourite scene is this one:
when dewey and webby find the door to selene's garden!!
and then dewey stops them from going through!
throughout the whole episode, dewey's been quick to defend della and justify whatever "taking the spear of selene" could have been whenever webby suggests it could have been a betrayal of some sorts
because "taking the spear of selene" being a betrayal would break him
but webby doesn't know this
and she doesn't know why he's so set on keeping them from going through
i really love physical fights filled with emotional tension in fiction
it's just so intense
dewey's nothing but determined to keep webby from going through the door
webby's confused and the door is closing and this is their chance and she has no idea why dewey isn't jumping at the chance to take it
so, she asks him.
"we're so close to the truth, why won't you let us find it?"
