im just grateful its gone down in commonness :/// used to be impossible to avoid and it sucked
Oh man, it used to be awful. It always made me uncomfortable for many, many reasons, but at one point I tried to embrace it as a “reclamation” or somesuch half-baked rationalization like that, but the thing about reclamation is that the people affected should be the ones reclaiming, and that definitely is not what’s going on with “sin”.
On the other hand, though, it was nice having such a huge red flag available. Nowadays it’s harder for people to spot a lot of the fetishizers--I do see an awful lot of their posts reblogged in my feed and all I can do is shrug my shoulders and scroll past. It’s nice not being having to see that particular word, but it’s disheartening to know that an awful lot of people consume that kind of content knowingly or unknowingly.
