I respect author saying it's not a romance, but, I can't help but ship Gil and Lizel. They're so precious.
I was reading along with the anime as it was airing, so now that it's over, I've been reading a little whenever I want. Since TokyoPop hasn't published a volume in over a year, I've been savoring it.
Here are my favorite parts from Volume 7 so far.
First off, SUPER funny that arm wrestling becomes relevant again. Second, hilarious that Lizel is like, "Anyways, let's go--WAIT BOOK?!?" Then he goes immediate woman wiles and starts adorably begging Gil to join the competition and win him the book. This is chapter 31.
Please? *BIG EYES* You won't help me? You really won't help me??? Gil is sort of refusing, but like not outright, like he is so torn, he wants to give in and make Lizel happy, I think, but he also really doesn't want to look so easy to win over/really doesn't want the attention from the competition.
He says gross, but he probably is deflecting to how gross he feels he wants to do whatever Lizel wants, and then he does give in!! "You don't like it?" I don't like how much I do like it. XD
Lizel is so proud!

The way they take care of each other and thank and welcome each other. So precious.
So, that was all the cute stuff from the Book and Arm Wrestling section, THEN we get gifted with this on the bed part of the next chapter. Chapter 32.
First, I just love how they're sitting together.
Lizel can't sleep because his body is tingling making him very uncomfortable. He reasons that it's likely a slight curse effect from strong magical presence being carried by the wind. Lizel was going to go out, but Gil doesn't want him wandering around, so they lay on Gil's bed together and talk some things out.
"That feels gross." aka How much I liked you touching me. XD
Gil checks for a fever, and we get more touching.
Lizel's interest in a certain location, and Gil starts to worry that he's trying to get home faster.
Gil is so upset, and he goes to confirm that's what Lizel is after, and he's like, lol, no, His Majesty is working on that, so whatever.
The relief literally melts Gil, and he's smiling, which Lizel even notices.
Then BAM we get hit with A SMILE AND GIL SAYING "ALL THANKS TO YOU" LIKE!!!!!? SLIADIASHDILUAHSDILUAD!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR NOT ACTIVELY WORKING TO GO HOME, SO I CAN BE BY YOUR SIDE, I'M SO HAPPY.

I want them to be a couple so bad, they're so cute together, I'm taking mental damage! Just when I thought I'd seen as cute as it could get volume 7 punched me in my shipper face. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
