I first conceived this artwork in December 2024, shortly after I began drawing Transformers fanart. At that time, I had little idea how to properly depict body structure of the mechs. Looking back, the initial draft was quite messy. I redrew it in October 2025 and only recently picked it up, refining some of my original ideas along the way. I'm glad to realize there's still so much room for improvement.

While drawing this piece, the lyrics "You and I, we are one of a kiiiiiind" from Vivo kept playing in my head. Though vastly different in personality, Soundwave and Blaster—being the only Casstte carriers we know in the two Cybertronian factions-are truly "one of a kind." In the Japanese TF G1 continuity Headmasters, after their mutual destruction, they were reborn as Soundblaster and Twincast, each undergoing a shift in color scheme—from deep blue to black, and from red to blue. It's as if Soundwave has absorbed Blaster’s red-and-black palette, while Blaster’s red is now overlaid by Soundwave’s blue. I love this sense of mutual infiltration and fusion between them, and that’s exactly where the color scheme for this illustration comes from. (I’ve used a similar concept before in another artwork inspired by the cover of Call Me by Your Name.)

These two Cybertronians, who have either already or will experience death and rebirth together, exist in this moment as an overlapping state of life and afterlife.

to others he was there but to you he was everything

In all the years you’d known Soma Cruz the best way you could describe him was noble

Both in looks and in personality

From an outside perspective of just a first glance he was like a portrait of old

A solemnly beautiful face that Roman artists would’ve carved

Pale white hair with the softness and appearance of fresh snow signalling the oncoming change of season

A presence of silent strength and dominance that seemed to make the room pause whenever he entered it

Dressed well with his combination of sleek black turtle neck, jeans and his white coat with a fur collar accent by pops of blue

The only thing that threw people off were his eyes

There was a power to them

Silent and all encompassing

Dominating in how they seemed to gaze into your very soul with a simple gaze alone

Perhaps if they were a pretty powder blue others would’ve found it more welcoming

others might think blue would’ve fit him better but to you his pools of caramel were perfect

Would CD!mc will be like Honeypie and think that "nah he doesn't like me that way he probably likes Mina"?

I think dark lord Soma would be a yandere towards CD!mc with his love that turned twisted like him after submitting to the darkness

imagine him sitting on his throne with a wine glass full of either wine or human blood that might as well be taken from veins of his beloved bounded with his magic or gentle ropes - result of their confrontation with Soma that ended with him winning, imagine him kissing them right after taking a sip of the scarlet liquid from the wine glass letting them taste it on their tongue (sorry i think I got carried away somewhere i shouldn't have gone😐)

Welcome back anon! Thank you for the clockwork dissonance ask! I have to hop back on it when I’m done the first part of my transformers series. Ngl was kinda hoping it would get a bit more traction than what It originally got tho I think I was a bit late to the castlevania hype train for posting lol. Tho I’m still hoping to make more cause I really like my idea (partially cause I reallllllly like soma Cruz and the ideas I have for the series).

You can call the Mc for CD reader whatever u want. Another good fit would probably be Belmont reader since that is a big part of their identity. Thank u for picking up on the Neapolitan ice cream imagery I was putting for their friend group with soma and Mina. That for some reason I was particularly happy about lol. I tried to make their friend group kinda mirror the friendship between Alucard, Trevor’s and Sypha’s since that’ll come into play later. Soma is equivalent to alucard for very obvious reasons but also because he’s generally kinda quiet but introspective, Mina is Sypha especially since she’s the voice of reason as well as having magic, and reader is the Belmont aka heart of gold but reckless with their own self safety for the needs of others. There’s not much more to be explained on their end lol .

Oh yeah, reader in clockwork dissonance is totally enamoured by soma. They’re just a bit too dense to realize their feelings for him. To be fair to them they kinda had a weird childhood in which their mom plus alucard and Yoko trying to make them have a normal childhood while the rest of the Belmont clan were assholes. They kinda just assumed that they’d die young and (hopefully) live up to not only the Belmont name but also to Julius’s shadow. Belmont didn’t believe they’d ever have a chance at romance let alone develop feelings for someone, so they kinda don’t know what they’re feeling. They kinda just chalk it up to “i just want to be super best friends with soma” cause they quite literally can’t believe they’d get the chance to experience love (as sad as that is).

Yeah they operate under the Honeypie system of “they can’t have feelings for me! They must like [insert character] instead!” With Mina and soma. Poor Mina meanwhile has been trying to get these idiots together since she saw soma have heart eyes and Belmont went onto a whole tirade about soma’s so cool and great and pretty and kind and did they mention soma looked like an angel and- you get the deal. Soma is owing her a lifetime of takoyaki after he said there was no way that Belmont liked him in that way and he’d bet on it.

As you can tell I like obvious/dense mc’s but not because of the whole “their so innocent uwu” stuff but moreso cause “trauma, trauma, no one could love me and i shouldn’t get my hopes up, trauma, trauma, what im feeling can’t be love cause i dont deserve that” angle. I think it makes it more interesting also cause I like characters yearning and putting my favourites through emotional pain lololol sorry soma ur not exempt.

Haha lol, Belmont meeting their dad will definitely be emotional. I don’t wanna spoil my own plans but I do want Julius to appear and be prevalent. Poor dude was wandering with amnesia and now ended up back in time still trying to figure himself out lol. The only other thing I’ll say about him that isn’t plot important but sad is that while he wanders with amnesia he has a locket with a photo of a baby that scrawled on the back hurriedly says “do it for them” and it’s his only lead on his previous life.

Yeahhhhh dark lord soma would definitely be yandere for Belmont mc. He’s got Dracula’s “I have to make sure I don’t lose the person I love again” and after seeing their tendencies to throw away their safety the “humanity doesn’t deserve nor appreciates your kindness. I will wipe them out cause they’ll use you till your dead” sorta deal.

With the scenario you made I can’t help but make up my own image of what would happen as well. Belmont trying to reason with him but being unable to fight soma cause they know they can’t bring themself to hurt him. He 100% knows this and captures them promising to bring a new world, a kinder one where they don’t need to throw away their life anymore for ungrateful people. I think what’s more fucked up is that in this scenario I can’t help but imagine dark lord soma just letting Belmont try and escape the castle/fight their way up to him just to be unable to face him again cause it’s what a Belmont would do and because like Lisa they can’t give up wanting to do the right thing even if it kills them. He just keeps letting them doo this till they eventually burn out and he gently pulls them close to sit on his throne with him.

Ngl I kinda reallllly like dark lord soma and the ideas it gives me

Hi Sharkie, in the Transformers story you're writing (about y/n, who was a Transformer and then reincarnated as a human), will she reveal who she used to be after reuniting with her old friends (thanks to Miko), or will she remain silent because she feels guilty about what happened after she died? Y/n in my transformers story who’s been reincarnated and reunited with the bots due to Miko’s troublemaking (thanks Miko) is very hesitant and unsure how to tell everyone it’s them. In Their perspective it seems like things went to shit after they kicked the bucket and potentially over a million or so years went by. They kinda assume both that everyone has moved on about their death (since they died a long as time ago) and that they probably weren’t that important to anyone in the first place (very wrong. They learn this fact quickly)

Y/n in this is put in a very precarious situation cause how do you tell people who’ve grieved their loss that their back but now as a new species? Is it fair to do that to someone when they’ve grieved and still are grieving that monumental loss? Thats not even mentioning how they feel about the situation. Cause imagine you spend your life thinking you were a disappointment only to learn from everyone around you that they thought the world about you (some even loving you) but now believing you’re dead and gone. Plus at that point they’d lived as a human for a long ass time, their 50 (the middle point of their human life) and a retired singer with a kid (their Miko’s host parent in this au, tho lowkey they basically are just her adoptive parent at this point lololol). They gotta worry about half their past friends who apparently had feelings for them all along now trying to destroy earth and trying to kill them and their host kid (not to mention Megatron lowkey being on space crack and earth being unicron all along would be another zinger they gotta process)

Y/n be going through a lot in this and that’s not even mentioning the fact they’d named their band after their former cybertronian name that bites them in the ass (Soundwave figures this shit out fast cause he’s the ultimate yearner) as well as making songs that sound weirdly cybertronian in nature as well as seemingly referencing familiar faces (Orian, starscream, shockwave, megatronous, soundwave, etc).

As for Optimus reacts to them? Oof it’s painful. Orian had a slow ass burn realizing he loved them cause in his optics they were a respected doctor who risked their livelihood to help others and he was basically just a librarian. However as time went on he accepted his feelings as things with the senate became more dicey which unfortunately is just as y/n gets killed. Saddest part, he was probably contemplating confessing just as he heard the news and rushed out to try and save them. He views it as his greatest failure of not saving them and his inability in realizing his own feelings. As the war goes on he often reminisces about his memories with them and oh boy does it get worse when he meets them as a human unbeknownst to him. He initially wrote off their shocked reaction as something any human would go through when meeting an alien race, especially when learning you were Miko’s caretaker, however he swears you nearly call him Orian various times when you shouldn’t know that. But it gets worse as small similarities between his biggest fumble and the human who acts wayyyy to much like them keeps happening. It’s the small things that get him the most, he was an archivist, he notices small details. The way they talk, the way their eyes would light up, the humming under their breath when they thought no one noticed. He notices it and it hurts like an aching pain, and yet he doesn’t push them away. He believes it’s just a bittersweet coincidence, a blessing and a curse by primus. It makes him both happy to be reminded of who he once loved yet it rubs salt in the wound at the same time that if he were faster maybe they’d be here…it remains like this at least until he learns the truth……ooof that’s gotta hurt

This wasn’t apart of the question but I thought I’d also go over ratchets reaction over all this cause he’s also important in all this. Some context is that Rachet isn’t a romantic interest but is a platonic relationship in y/n’a life before being reborn. He was essentially their mentor/father figure before their eventual death and oh boy does this poor bot go through it. POV: you’ve been stuck fighting for millions of years watching your leader and enemies pine over your dead kid, but when you land on this backwater planet named after dirt this alien from this planet is eerily similar to your dead kid gets dragged into all this. Rachet goes through some shit in this story, he’s particularly distant for the longest time though that isn’t surprising considering his inital opinions on humans. However as time goes on he’s the one from the Autobots who gets the most suspicious about reader in this. lol he was once their dad, that “dad sense” which he gets when they do dumb shit doesn’t go away easily. When he finds out though that it’s them he has a full cry sesh and it’s maybe the first time in a millennia the other Autobots have seen him cry besides on their death anniversary.

As for your question about jazz, I really like him! I have to watch more shows to learn more about his character but I think he’s really cool. I really like his design and his character quirk about liking human culture and music. Girl, I'm really looking forward to reading this. And I'm curious, what other Transformers series do you like? Have you watched the Bayvers movies? Or the Transformers comics (İDW ect,) ? Do you have any favorite comics? And last question, if you were to rank your favorite Transformers characters, which ones would they be?

To answer your first question ive seen the bay films (grew up on them lol, my dad was a transformers fan as a kid so it passed to me) the bumblebee movie, rise of the beasts, and my current favorite film transformers one

As for shows I’ve watched mainly prime and when I was young I was big on rescue bots lol (though I barely remember it). I’ve recently started G1 and want to watch cyberverse, animated and armada. I’ve seen earthspark season one but I won’t go past season one considering I’ve heard the writing gets pretty bad.

As for comics I’ve unfortunately haven’t been able to read any because I don’t know where to read them. I want to, especially more than meets the eye but from what I’ve seen online resellers sell individual comics for like 100 if not more and I’m not sure what sites on the 7 seas are safe enough to try reading without my card info being taken lol. If anyone has suggestions of places to safely read the comics please lemme know.

As for ranking my favourites, I’d say

As for stories yes I do have a few things in mind for transformers. I’m mainly focusing on two small concepts I have that I’ll probably turn into oneshots or maybe 2 to 3 parts

My first one is a project Hail Mary concept where the reader is grace and rocky is breakdown lol. It’s more of a concept piece of me rambling about how it would fit the structure of Hail Mary with transformers.

My second concept is a lot more story and character based. It’s set in primes universe and lore as best as I can (cause I don’t know where to fully read the lore books that act as a prequel on cybertron) alongside small ideas from other continuities. My main idea is based on the whole reincarnation trope but done in the opposite order (if that makes sense) so reader was a cybertronian that had reincarnated somehow as a human during the events of prime.

Basically in their past life on cybertron they were a doctor for the upper class of bots who snuck out and used their connections and materials to try and help other bots. This eventually leads them to the main cast in which they’d developed some platonic (Rachet, bumblebee) relationships with as well as romantic pinning from others (orian pax/ Optimus, Megatron, Soundwave, shockwave, etc) before they died.

The added angst of the situation is that they died because of the senate just before the main divide between the decepticons and Autobots. Their death acting as a further dividing point between Orian and Megatron(Optimus who wants justice for them in seeing the perpetrators get proper punishment versus Megatron who wants to rip them to shreds and parade their bodies through iacon).

And then they just wake up one day after dying, somehow on earth. Born a human retaining millions of years of memories but now in a body of an entirely new species that are physically different as well as societally different. While some things are similar to cybertron, other aspects are entirely different. There’s no cast system, and while some opportunities aren’t given due to class and monetary reasons they aren’t subject to one singular static role in society.

I have a lot of ideas for reader insert as a human in this mostly because I like to think they’d be really interested in humanity and the new opportunity given to them. They live, they learn and they grow a lot faster than they would have as a cybertronians cause humans have significantly shorter lives and therefore have to make it more meaningful in such a short time. I had the idea that while they enjoyed being a medic they had a true passion for art they couldn’t pursue due to their casted role, but as a human they now explore it more. They make music in a band they name after their original cybertronian name (which bites them in the ass later lol) before settling down and retiring in Jasper as a 50 something year old now enjoying life…until they accidentally get roped into the events of prime cause of Miko.

Drama ensues when their trying to figure out how things went to shit after they died, why half their old friends despite each other now and how to tell their old friends that “hey I know you watched me die in front of your own optics and cradled me as my spark went out but I’m back somehow as this fleshy alien!” As well as realizing that they were a lot more influential than they first thought…as well as how certain people talk about them implies yearning they hadn’t realized when on cybertron. (Cough, them overhearing ratchet telling the kids not to bring up their old designation cause apparently saving the person he loved most is Optimus’s biggest regret and makes him really sad)
