I kinda love that one bit in the beginning of First Heretic where Lorgar and Magnus are bonding over having trouble with their Astartes, and Lorgar's just gone on a whole spiel about Kor Phaeron+Erebus becoming ("becoming" lol) nasty little nakedly ambitious cunning viziers and Argel Tal being a chronically depressed demon-infested sad boy, then goes to Magnus "But I imagine it's the same with you and Ahriman"

Which is like...I mean...kind of?? Not really though??

Like Ahriman is increasingly resentful of Magnus and Magnus is increasingly frustrated by Ahriman, but Magnus also isn't sending two of his troubled adult sons to Calth in the hopes they die or ignoring the fact one of said troubled sons is about to murder the third depressed one.

It's like if you told your mom friend "I don't know what to do, my daughters staying out past curfew and cursing at me lately, our relationships broken down" and she replied "Yeah I get it, my eldest son keeps setting the back bedroom on fire after locking his siblings inside and it's like god damn it not again, enough with the fires. But you know how it is"
