T B H it’s my own OTP Karma/Zed that is MEGA MISUNDERSTOOD.
Folks ask me is it just a hate ship??? Why would Karma go after Zed and not Shen????
First of all, no, it doesn’t have to be a hate ship but it could be if it was plotted so! And my Karma in particular completely HATES Shen. MY Karma is a power-seeking political woman who will make alliances and choose friends and lovers based on what is good for her in both her personal life and her political and military life. All three must be tied together in some way, and having a physical and emotional alliance to the Master of the Order of Shadows, to her, is tantamount to her gaining an edge over Ionian government. While Karma is initially a closed-off person, she easily opens up to men like Zed who show a innate and powerful strength of will.
It’s very complicated, and finding that right partner to be my non-AU Zed will take a lengthy selection time. Once that happens, I’ll probably only have one canon Zed.
And then we have the flawless combination of @umbra-iustitia and Karma. Her personal assassin and (almost) live-in retainer, he’s with her all the time and it was almost impossible for them NOT to fall in love.
