end of the year fic meme! honestly i kind of want to ask you all of these but - 1, 6, 8?

1.  What’s your personal favourite thing you wrote this year?

I’ve already plugged Peter Enchanted a bunch of times, but I still think it’s the best thing I’ve ever written. I just really, really like it. I think it’s a fun take on both the Ella Enchanted story and on Peter’s backstory, and I really enjoyed writing it.

8. Which fic this year was most fun to write?

Definitely my Magnus Archives Lord of the Rings AU. It’s the longest thing I’ve ever written, which was a fun challenge, and it let me dive back into a series that I adore. It was also very, very fun working with you, aibari, and I think your beta’ing is not only the reason why it turned out as nicely as it did, but also why it turned out at all.

lantern - how did you meet your best friend? What were your first impressions of each other?

the person i consider my best friend for these kinds of questions (though i consider most of my friends my best friends because i love them all differently but equally if that makes any sense) and i met at an anime club meeting our freshman year of college. i’m not entirely sure what her first impression of me was, but i was totally in awe of her and her massive anime DVD collection lol the first thing we did together was watch anime for like 8 hours straight in her dorm room.

harvest - what fictional character do you most identify with? Why?

this is a hard question to answer because the answer changes fairly often as my understanding of myself changes. for the moment, though, i’d probably say jon archivist sims for...many reasons. but a few reasons are: i’m bi ace and he’s very likely some flavor of multi-spec and definitely ace. i’d never seen a bi ace character in media before, much less so complex a character as jon - much less a bi ace character with a touching, thoughtfully-written romance. ah, also, like, i have a lot of trouble reaching out to people when i feel overwhelmed and try my damnedest to keep myself and my thoughts close to my chest. i’m very slow to trust people and even slower to trust affection. and uhhh i will infodump if i feel comfortable, which is almost never lol. i also feel very strongly about maintaining a particular persona in public settings - regardless of who i’m with. umm there are more, but this answer is long enough as it is haha.

The Stranger: Are you normally a fan of horror?

absolutely not, I’m so easily scared and jumpscares freak me out so much. no joke there have been times when seeing a preview for a horror film gave me nightmares. I love the tma brand of horror though, it’s scary and creepy but it doesn’t keep me up at night lol

hi just a drive-by post to say I love Green Man From Outer Space a wild amount (the characterisations! the prose! the political and social realities of the setting! me constantly thinking "but where will they LIVE!" for fourteen chapters!) and I thought you should know haha

Ahhhh, thank you so much! This was the absolute best ask to wake up to on a Monday morning. <3 <3 <3 I’m amazed by the reception this story’s getting and I couldn’t be more thrilled that you’re enjoying it. 

(and tbh I went through that same crisis while writing -- I scrapped about four different possible endings before landing on the one I chose. I hope it’ll work for you. ;) )

definitely beauty and the beast. i have a soft spot for the disney movie, but i love almost any interpretation of it
