I wanted to make a post with all of the chapter artworks for my fanfic Aid to Navigation so they’re all in one place (and also because I made a mistake in one and I want to post the fixed version ahaha).

Another attempt at a SU style background for my next chapter pic! I’m hoping I’ll finish the whole thing by today, if all goes well, but until then here’s the BG, since I like how it turned out.
Aid to Navigation chapter 9: Harbour
The rise and fall of a diamond wasn't something she would soon forget. It left quite the impression, like a meteor burning up in the earth’s atmosphere. A shooting star at the end of its journey.
Aid to Navigation chapter 11: Lighthouse
Steven waited with his hands folded in his lap, too nervous to lean out and look around the staircase to see who it was. He couldn’t stop himself from listening, though, not without covering his ears. Maybe this visitor wasn’t here for him. Or if they were, maybe it wouldn’t be too bad. His talk with Sadie had gone fine, right? It might even be her again, coming to check in and see how he was doing. That would be nice. He could talk to her without too much difficulty, probably.
“Oh, uh, mayor Nanefua.” His dad’s awkward greeting swiftly crushed that hope. “What brings you here?”
Nanefua’s tone was dry as she replied. “Hello, Greg. I think you know why I’ve come.”
Aid to Navigation chapter 10: Riprap
There was no denying that something bitter hovered beneath the surface of their relationship now. Dealing with it meant exposing it to open air, which terrified him, but the thought of letting it stay there to haunt them forever scared him even more. He owed it to Jasper to not ignore this and hope it went away, and he was starting to realize that maybe… Maybe he owed it to himself as well. He wondered if he was allowed, just this once, to do something for his own sake, instead of only doing it for someone else.
Aid to Navigation Chapter 6: Leading Lights
In which a familiar face makes a dramatic appearance.
For anyone who’s curious, this is the full body design of Azalea Diamond from Aid to Navigation chapter 9, plus a height comparison to show roughly how big they are. It was fun trying to come up with a design for them, and I went through a few versions, plus quite a few different names, before I was satisfied lol. The reason I chose Azalea for their name is because I didn’t want to call them them some variation of Pink Diamond, I felt like for this fic their name should be something separate from that. Azalea is both a flower, and a colour that matches their design, and royal azaleas tends to have 5 petals, like their hair, which is why I featured that particular species in the chapter.
I didn’t get to show off much of their personality since they were only around for a short time, but hopefully they were still interesting to read about!
