he knew coming to their party was a mistake. hell, he’d considered telling them he was simply too busy to come. it wasn’t exactly a lie, he was drowning in work, trying to learn the ropes of his new position - but he’d never been able to say no to them. after a few drinks in quick succession, he made his way over to them, forcing a tight smile on to his face. “congratulations.”
