sungil tried to keep the clattering of pans and dishes to a minimum, he really did. even after living (semi) independently for so long, he was kind of useless when it came to navigating a kitchen. more often than not he’d fuel himself with takeout, but in a stroke of misfortune his favourite chicken shop was closed for the evening, practically forcing him to cook a meal up for himself for a change. the only problem with that was, he didn’t really know how. like any self-respecting millennial, sungil had quickly turned to youtube tutorials for answers, but it wasn’t long until he was facing his next hurdle: actually following through with one.
“this is so hard!” he whined, struggling to open up a bag of flour to use for batter, only to accidentally tear it a little too much and send a cloud of fine white into the air and across the surfaces. the internet had promised him pancakes was the easiest thing in the world to make, and yet here he was, suffering. deflating with a sigh, sungil wiped a cheek with the back of his hand before turning in mild panic as he heard footsteps. half expecting ridicule for his pitiful state, his hands worked to quickly dust himself off as he shuffled away from the mess of bowls and flour, pointing at the display in faux-annoyance as aiden entered the scene.
“crazy that some people would leave the place like this, huh?” he said, as if it weren’t obviously himself who was the human disaster. “could you imagine making this kind of mess? i can’t.”
