Hello, I'm Amity
And i have HIV, This is something that I've talked about, but I feel like it's important and doesn't get talked about enough.
I was diagnosed with HIV when i was 25. I had just moved to a new state with my now ex wife who moved here a year before, we had an open relationship during that time and both had prior sexual partners and wanted to be safe and get tested.
I was not even aware at the time i had contracted HIV or was aware that there was any treatments available. When I received my diagnosis I felt like I just received a death sentence. I was scared, I felt Like my life was over.
I've had nothing but love and support from everyone around me. I have now had my HIV fully suppressed and undetectable for over 4+ years now. I have a beautiful healthy baby boy, and I'm living my best life. My life isn't over, It's just starting. I'm always going to have HIV it's a part of who I am now, but it's not going to stop me.
This blog is documenting my transition, being trans and life with HIV, while being a full-time mom and part-time shitposter.
My asks and inbox are always open♡

Okay, we already know that Richie’s fear was people finding out he was gay. It probably also had to do with the stigma around it at that time. During the 80’s AIDS was huge and everyone saw gay people as disgusting, Richie was terrified of being seen as disgusting and unlovable. He was probably terrified of Eddie finding out because Eddie was such a germaphobe. Eddie was probably also a bug germaphobe during that time because HE felt unclean because he also knew he was gay and felt sick.
I don't think I've ever been so emotionally drained. I've just finished the last episode of its a sin and I actually can't deal. It showed so much pain. So many people died. So many gay men forgotten. So many queer people ignored and mistreated. A whole community isolated within society. And yet I still smiled in the last scene. It's a beautiful show, please watch it.
World Aids Day
"It is bad enough that people are dying of AIDS, but no one should die of ignorance." - Elizabeth Taylor. This World Aids Day, come together to support individuals who are living with HIV, fight HIV together, and remember those who have died from an AIDS-related illness. And commit to ensuring the rights of those living with HIV, putting an end to new cases of the disease, and combating stigma and prejudice against those living with the virus.
