So remember how shocked and horrified hawks was that dabi knew his name?
Maybe it was less abt him knowing it more about HOW he knew it. It looks like his mind went immediately to his mom. So when dabi called him takami keigo he immediately went
“he went after my mom. She’s probably dead.”
“Aieeeeee! The Teeth!“
//. apollo’s non-azem!verse is essentially the same as his azem verse with some few minor differences and a couple major ones--born in a cottage to the far south of amaurot, his father wishes to bring him to amaurot because he sees potential in him. his father eventually vanishes, his mother emotionally abandons him, and he sets off for amaurot by himself. he does not find the young foal who he would name cali and make his travel companion, but eventually arrives an amaurot, where he works and studies to become The Physician (or, failing that, a clerk of the physician).
he applies for the seat of azem, but is not chosen. failing to live up to that dream (in his mind) he instead focuses extra hard on bettering amaurot and the star from the bureau of the physician, but is long plagued by loneliness and feelings of inadequacy. this of course he hides from his friends as best he can, and jumps at the chance to help Azem whensoever they need it, should they need it at all.
at the encroachment of the Final Days, he briefly considers offering himself up in sacrifice to summon Zodiark. in most instances, he does not, and tries to help citizens and combat terminus beasts (with varying degrees of success). in alternate timelines, feeling as if he has nothing left to give the star but his life, he offers himself up in sacrifice to summon Zodiark. in these instances, rham’ir doesn’t exist on the source, but apollo’s shade can be found sitting alone in the park with a tome in his lap in Emet-Selch’s phantom amaurot. the shade is actually silent when approached by the warrior of light and cannot be directly interacted with.
in cases where apollo does survive the final days, he isolates himself, distancing from the division in opinion in his people regarding the fate of the star. so burdened by his inability to cope, and the sheer hopelessness of the situation before him, apollo considers leaving amaurot to return to his childhood home where he would quietly die surrounded by peaceful flower fields. upon hydaelyn’s summoning, however, he wouldn’t be given the chance to, and is accidentally tempered by her light prior to the sundering.
