Sitting quietly in the library was a girl reading something. That's... Aika, right? I'll go introduce myself. Chieri had been looking for old concerts and magazines, but it appeared that someone (probably Suzuko) had already borrowed them.

Walking over to the girl, she tapped her on the shoulder. "Aika, right? I'm Sono Chieri. Nice to meet you!"

The new generation

Lovetan just heard the anouncement. The new 78th generation Kenkyuusei had been decided. They were probably on their way to the dorm by now. "Another bunch of new members, then. I guess it will be a lot more lively here once they arrive.", the successor thought to herself. "I wonder how scared they were doing the last task...", she slightly smiled while thinking about her own audition back then. Even though it felt like it happened ages ago she still was able to recall how afraid she was while protecting that concert. It surely appeared scary to anyone at first glance, but it couldn't be helped. Earlier she heard some of the other successors say, that they already had spoken to some of the Kenkyuusei candidates. They had been here at the dorm for a little before the final task and Lovetan couldn't help but feel a little left out. Due to her self-chosen training schedule she went through almost every day, she totally missed the opportunity to talk to even one of them. "It doesn't matter. I'll just make sure I'll catch up on that when they all arrive", she tried to excuse herself for it but still felt a bit guilty. She really wanted to be a good Senpai to all of them and help them as good as she could.  Being new here could be very hard. The daily routine, lessons, photoshootings,protecting concerts from time to time and due to the possibilty that someone attacks the group, being on guard the whole time....She had been through the same when she was a new generation Kenkyuusei. But she was sure that all the girls would be able to find their places here soon. While thinking about her own trainee days the small sucessor really looked foward to the new Kenkyuusei. And with that kind of anticipation she was waiting for their arrival. As it rains, young girls protect a concert...

It was raining. The ground turned to mud and many girls fell. Screams and cries mixed in with gun shots, the whirring mechanics of DES mechas. In the distance, the members of AKB0048 could be heard, singing like the understudy hopefuls weren't fighting for their concert, fighting for their lives.

By the time the final song, Heavy Rotation, had stopped, there were only eight of them left. Huffing, they stood up as Tsubasa reached them. With a small smirk, all she said was "Congratulations on becoming a member of AKB0048. Don't let us down."

The girls who had fallen in the background were recovering from shock, finding out their 'blood' was actually just paint, though it didn't ease the bruises they'd made, didn't ease the shock and fear of battle. 

But for those who had made it, those who had passed... It was all smiles and cheers. "I'm finally a member!" "I knew it!" "This was a joke?!?" And so you would return to Akibastar, this time, not as a hopeful, but as a fully fledged member of AKB0048's 78th generation. Well done, girls.

((A little addition to my last post about being on a semi-hiatus... but if I end up in the hospital I might be back... I may need something to do while I'm there. At this point, there's about a 50% chance of me ending up in the hospital.))

Headcanons!

Aika really wants to succeed Mayuyu, but is too shy to admit it because she adores the current Mayu and feels like it would be rude to say that when she's just a starting understudy. She's not lying when she says that she really likes the original Kaachan and Wasamin, but she doesn't really feel the personal connection with them that she does with Mayuyu.

Aika holds a concurrent honorary position in SKE☆48 thanks to the fact that she also auditioned for and passed SKE☆48's auditions. Meaning, if she fails the 0048 auditions, she's guaranteed a spot on SKE☆48's understudy team. If she does pass the 0048 auditions, she'll most likely be offered a spot whenever she returns to Sakaeastar.

Aika has quite low self-esteem, although she's trying to be more confident in herself. She can also get quite frustrated easily and give up too soon.

Aika's bedroom (and this will also apply to her part of a dorm room if she passes) is covered with posters of various idols from both AKB0048 and SKE☆48. She has lots of posters of Takamina and Mayuyu, because those are the two members she admires the most. From SKE☆48, her posters mainly consist of Akemi Kimura from Team E, and an understudy named Emily Brennan.

As a addition to the last headcanon, SKE☆48 doesn't work like AKB0048 does, with successors carrying on the names of previous members. SKE☆48 runs like any idol group today, with members going by their own names. Some members will adopt the nicknames of original 48 group members that they want to be like. (For instance, a member named Marie Chandler might decide to adopt Miyuki Watanabe's nickname, Milky, because she wants to be like Miyuki.)

Aika loves cute things (cute clothes, cute girls, cute stuffed animals), and her friends from Sakaeastar would often teasingly say she had an obsession with cuteness.

Aika doesn't get very nervous at all when she has to go on stage, do an interview, or do an event, but she will often become very flustered and embarrassed if she has to watch a recording of said event.

Miyuki spots Aika!

Miyuki blinked the sleep out of her eyes, and stretched in bed. “Another day, another adventure!" she said to noone as she jumped out of bed as energetically as she could. Running to the bathroom, she quickly brushed her teeth, sprinted down the stairs, grabbing her apron and the keys, then yelled behind herself as she shut the front door behind her.

"I’m off now, I’ll be back later!"

Noone replied. Of course noone replied. Her father was dead, and her mother was in a coma in hospital. But Miyuki felt that if she didn’t at least keep up her past pattern once in a while, she’d become overwhelmed by loneliness.

Running to her lemonade stand just outside of her garden, she spotted someone walking down the road who she had never seen before in this neighbourhood. And Miyuki knew everyone in this neighbourhood, as she had been living in this part of Akibastar since she had been born.

I wonder who that is? she thought, then spotted the heart shaped pattern on the girl's hair. Ah! Of course! The auditions for the 78th generation kenkyuusei! She must be one of the auditionees! I know, I'll go say hi!

"Hey!" she called out to the girl, then ran to catch up with her, jogging in place beside her. Miyuki was the type who always had to be moving, because she had uncontainable energy. "Hi! I'm Takahashi Miyuki, one of the hopefuls for the 78th generation kenkyuusei for 0048! From the look of you, you're one too, am I right? Nice to meet you! Hope we get to be members together!"
