It was a slow day again for business. Morie had long since accepted it, to be honest; living on a tiny island, in such a impromptu workshop as it was, Morie was surprised when she actually did get customers. With there being both a mainland alchemist- Opalia- as well as the royal alchemist, Dahlia, people just weren’t too terribly interested in going out of their way to stop by. Morie tried to combat this by coming up with new recipes, and experimenting, but she knew that in order to become more successful, she would have to simply work harder. Today, Morie was carefully experimenting with a new recipe she had written down after earlier attempts at combining different ingredients than usual. She’d finally managed to venture up north into the mountains, where she and Mariel had met the ghost girl Pamela, who haunted a mansion that wasn’t even hers, and had managed to collect the rare flower that was said to be an alchemy ingredient in the process. Cautiously and slowly, she stirred the ingredients together in her cauldron, but was startled by the chime of the bell she had hung over the door, signaling that someone had entered. “Ah- just a second!" she called out, and turned to Mariel, who sat on the nearby couch, helping herself to a bag of cookies she had obtained from Opalia earlier. “Mari, could you possibly st-" She caught herself before she could ask Mariel to stir the cauldron for her, remembering what happened the last time she did. There were still scorch marks on the walls that Morie hadn’t quite managed to clean off, and she was still paying off the repairs to the windows, as well. "… Mari, could you go see if she needs anything?" Morie corrected herself.
