i'm using hockey for all of these just because that's where i am right now. 

UM. okay my favourite fanfiction is tour de force. it's just SO GREAT and i love it a lot and kasjfklsj. 

my fanauthor is, and always WILL BE, liketheroad. she just GETS THEM so well. i can't deal with any of her fic, tbh. (but then there's like, hazel and thehoyden (obvs) and so MANY great kane/toews authors, tbh.

Rick Nash!

OKAY I LOVE HIM? but it's mostly osmosis from him having to deal with jeff carter when he was traded to the blue jackets. seriously, i do not wish sulky jeff on anyone and having to put up with that shit, lead a team, etc etc must have been the WORST. 

fuck everything, rick nash is just glad not to be in columbus anymore, okay? somebody - anybody - else can have that drama.

I can totally write another rant about him because WHY NOT. (I didn't see yours until it was too laaaate and I already posted my mega rant -- but.)On top of everything I just said here: http://ampliflyer.tumblr.com/post/43389805718/this-is-going-to-end-badly-yes-yes-it-is-ebs-of I'll just add that I think he's going to become huge, given time and space and guidance. And I *want* him to have everything it takes to become huge, because he has it. His attitude is right, the level he's playing is superb and he has a great group of young guns around him who complement him and he complements them right back. There are just other things that are on the way of Oilers' success, and I'm really worried about Ebs and Hallsy and Nuge and ~everyone, really, because they have such thirst to win and be successful and it's being denied denied denied so often, and that simply cannot be good for player development in the long run. See Rick Nash - poor bb is finally getting to "start his career". I am not saying my feelings for this matter are the right ones, I'm just saying that they're *mine*, that this is how I see it.
